A good smartphone with a great camera. How to choose a smartphone with the best camera

(10 photos)

Camerophone is a mobile phone with a built-in digital video camera.

Initially, the built-in camera was intended for the MMS service, and any phone with a camera was called a camera phone. Nowadays, the word "camera phone" is often used to refer not to any phone with a camera, but to a phone with a high-quality camera and special photographic functions. Such a phone most often has a high-resolution matrix, xenon and / or LED flash, additional controls (optical stabilization and laser autofocus), as well as a special photo interface and software for processing photos and transferring them to a blog. The presence of a built-in GPS-navigator in some models of cell phones allows you to add geotags (geotargeting) to photos that contain information about the shooting location. Also, much attention is paid to software technologies for improving image quality and additional shooting modes.

Now almost all models of mobile phones (except for the cheapest; or specialized ones, for example, corporate or children's) are equipped with cameras of at least 0.3 megapixels (VGA resolution). Phones of a fairly high class without a camera (for example, Sony Ericsson M600), intended primarily for corporate users, are not equipped with it, since in some organizations there may be bans on bringing devices with means of capturing images.

Usually the camera is built into the phone from the back side, but there are models with cameras on pivoting blocks from the end of the case. Some phones designed to work in third-generation networks have, in addition to the main one, one more camera (usually of lower resolution, 0.3 megapixels) on the front side of the case for video telephony. For the second half of 2015, there are smartphones (Chinese manufacturers) equipped with front modules from 5 to 13 megapixels. The cameras of most flagship smartphones record video in Full HD and support simultaneous recording from the main and front cameras.

In 2002, the Nokia 7650 smartphone entered the market - the first device equipped with a full-fledged built-in camera. It allowed taking pictures with a maximum resolution of 640 × 480 pixels, saving them in JPEG format and allowing them to be sent immediately via MMS. In addition to this shooting mode, designated as "Normal", the device had two more: "Portrait" with a resolution of 80 × 96 and "Night", in which the sensor's light sensitivity was artificially raised, which led to an increase in image noise.

In 2004, the Nokia 7610 smartphone was released - the first mass device in Europe with a 1-megapixel camera (resolution 1152x864). The Sharp GX30, which appeared earlier (in the same year), had much lower total shipments.

Devices with 2 and 3.2 megapixel cameras became commonplace with the release of the K- and C-series from Sony Ericsson in 2005 [specify].

The 8-megapixel device became a sensation from Samsung in 2009.

At the 2012 MWC, the Nokia 808 PureView was presented with a 41-megapixel camera, its matrix size is 1 / 1.2 ".

In 2013, flagship smartphones from Samsung, Sony, LG and other manufacturers are equipped with main cameras with a resolution of 13 megapixels and front cameras of 1.9 - 2.1 megapixels, simultaneous shooting of the main and front cameras, including video in Full HD, is supported.

On June 12, 2013, the Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom was officially announced - a smartphone with a 16-megapixel camera with 10x optical zoom and a powerful flash. The matrix size is 1 / 2.3 ", which is 3 times smaller than in Nokia 808 and 2 times smaller than in Nokia Lumia 1020.

On July 11, 2013, the Nokia Lumia 1020 was announced - a smartphone with a 41-megapixel camera and optical stabilization. Unlike its predecessor - Nokia 808 - it has a reduced matrix (2/3 "), which affected the quality of photos (increased noise level even during daytime shooting).

In the fall of 2013, the Sony Xperia Z1 was announced with a 20.7 megapixel camera. This smartphone, like its predecessor and successors of the line, is capable of shooting even underwater.

Simultaneously with increasing the resolution of cameras, manufacturers are increasing the maximum video resolution. All flagships at the end of 2013 shoot in Full HD. In the fall of 2013, the Acer Liquid S2 was presented - the first smartphone to shoot video in Ultra HD. On the same day, the Samsung Galaxy Note III was presented, which has the same function. Samsung Galaxy S V also shoots in this format.

Announced in February 2014, the Sony Xperia Z2 received a 20.7 megapixel camera with the world's first digital image stabilization system and Ultra HD video shooting.

A camera phone is a smartphone with a very good camera and special photographic functions. The best camera phones take photos just as well as good amateur or semi-professional digital cameras. The quality of video recording of camera phones is not inferior to good video cameras. For example, some camera phones allow you to shoot video in 4K format, that is, four times sharper than Full HD.

This ranking will feature the best camera phones for 2016. When placing the places in the rating, in addition to the characteristics of the main camera, the characteristics of the front camera (which is needed for video calls and selfies), as well as the price-quality ratio were taken into account. To assess the quality of the cameras, we took into account professional reviews of different models, blind comparisons of cameras (when people compare photos taken by different models of smartphones, not knowing which photo was taken by this or that device), customer reviews in the Yandex-Market.

10th place. Microsoft Lumia 950 XL Dual SIM

The average price is 41,390 rubles. This smartphone received 48% of the fives in the Yandex-Market. Main camera 20 MP with optical stabilization, F / 1.9 aperture and triple natural LED flash, photo resolution 4992x3744, video shooting in 4K format, front camera 5 MP.

Comparing the camera of this model and the camera of the LG G4, published on the SuperHDView YouTube channel, it can be seen that the Lumia 950 XL is slightly better in color reproduction, while the LG G4 camera produces a sharper picture. As far as stabilization in the Lumia 950 XL is concerned, the smartphone experienced slight autofocus issues when shooting moving subjects.

Other characteristics: 5.7-inch display with a resolution of 2560x1440 pixels, the latest operating system Windows 10 Mobile, 32 GB of permanent and 3 GB of RAM, support for 2 SIM cards.

9th place. LG G4 H815

2

The average price is 23,500 rubles. The flagship from the South Korean manufacturer received 79% of the fives in reviews in the Yandex market. Specifications: 5.5-inch screen with 2560x1440 resolution, 32GB of internal memory and 3GB of RAM, Android 5.1 operating system. 16MP main camera and 8MP front camera. The LG G4 was ranked # 4 in the Android Authority's Blind Smartphone Camera Comparison. The first three places were taken by the iPhone 6S, Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and Sony Xperia Z5.

8th place. ASUS ZenFone Zoom ZX551ML 64Gb

3

Price from 27,400 rubles (the price depends on the amount of memory). The novelty from the Taiwanese brand, which went on sale in Russia in March 2016, is even externally made in the form of a camera, which immediately suggests that we have a camera phone in front of us. The main camera is 13 megapixels, the front one is 5 megapixels. ASUS ZenFone Zoom is the world's thinnest 3x optical zoom smartphone. Thanks to a compact optical design using prisms and aspherical lenses, the 10-element lens from the Japanese company Hoya provides maximum aperture. The use of D-Cut technology made it possible to fit it into a smartphone body with a thickness of less than 12 mm. ZenFone Zoom's 3x optical zoom operates over a focal length range of 28mm to 84mm. With its help, you can "zoom in" the object being shot without loss of image quality. Built-in OIS keeps the image sharp even at shutter speeds up to 16x (4 stops). Real Tone Dual Tone LED Flash for more natural skin tones and accurate color reproduction. The fast laser autofocus system helps you capture crisp, high-resolution photos in just 0.03 seconds.

The editors of the w3bsit3-dns.com portal awarded ASUS ZenFone Zoom the “Great Idea” award for an innovative camera enclosed in a body with a memorable design. The review of the camera of this model on the site w3bsit3-dns.com says: "The impressions of the camera are extremely positive. Laser autofocus works very quickly, the optics works great with light ... In general, the pictures are obtained - just a sight for sore eyes."

Other characteristics: 5.5-inch screen with a resolution of 1920x1080, Android 5.0 operating system, 64 GB of internal memory and 4 GB of RAM (there is a model with 128 GB of internal memory), support for two SIM cards.

7th place. Sony Xperia Z5

4

The average price is 41,890 rubles. The flagship from the leading Japanese smartphone manufacturer scored 54% of the top fives in reviews in the Yandex market. 5.2-inch screen with a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels, Android 5.1 operating system, 32 GB of permanent and 3 GB of RAM.

Sony is one of the world leaders in the production of photographic equipment. The Sony sensor for the cameras of its smartphones is even used by Samsung, the world's leading smartphone salesman. Therefore, the Sony Xperia Z5 camera surprises even when familiarizing with the technical characteristics: the matrix of the main camera is 23 megapixels (the front one has 5 megapixels). The Xperia Z5's camera features ultra-fast 0.03 sec autofocus thanks to a combination of two different technologies. With 5x zoom, you can get closer to your subject without sacrificing image quality. This is made possible by powerful sensors, lenses and Sony's exclusive Clear Image technology.

Portal w3bsit3-dns.com in its review of this model writes: "The Sony Xperia Z5 camera can without hesitation be called one of the best among the" phone ": most of the pictures are simply amazing in terms of color rendition and clarity. With such a smartphone and a camera is not needed."

In a blind comparison of smartphone cameras conducted among visitors to the Android Authority, the pictures taken with the Sony Xperia Z5 camera were second only to the cameras of the iPhone 6S and Samsung Galaxy Note 5.

6th place. Sony Xperia Z5 Premium

5

The average price is 52,200 rubles. This model scored 70% of the top fives in reviews in the Yandex market. 5.5-inch screen with a resolution of 3840x2160 pixels, Android 5.1 operating system, 32 GB of permanent and 3 GB of RAM, support for only one SIM card (there is a slightly more expensive Premium Dual model that supports 2 SIM cards). This model is recommended for those who need not just a smartphone, but also an excellent camera. Sony said the model is the world's first 4K smartphone (4K means four times the resolution of Full HD). Each inch of the display is broken down into 806 pixels, making the image extraordinarily clear. The pixel density is 10 times that of Full HD TVs and twice that of most smartphones. The matrix of the main camera is 23 megapixels (the front one has 5 megapixels). You can capture frames from video: from videos shot in 4K format, you can select valuable frames and take high-quality 8-megapixel photos. Other advantages of the smartphone include a fingerprint scanner and water resistance.

5th place. Huawei Google Nexus 6P

6

Price from 33,990 rubles (the price depends on the amount of memory). The average price of the Nexus 6P 64Gb model is 46,700 rubles. Nexus 6P is a joint development of the largest Chinese smartphone manufacturer and Google, which owns the Android operating system. The collaboration between the two tech giants has produced excellent results. This model scored 80% of the top fives in reviews in Yandex-Market. The camera deserves special praise. Phone Arena tested the cameras of the main flagship models of 2015 and gave the Nexus 6P the same points as the iPhone 6S Plus and Samsung Galaxy Note 5. These three cameras tied for the first place. The Nexus 6P's 12.3-megapixel main camera is equipped with laser autofocus and dual LED flash. For the 8-megapixel front camera, autofocus also works. Taking photos and videos is done using the Google Camera app, which is very easy to learn and use. At the top of the screen, you can select Scene Modes, turn on the flash and HDR function, and set up timer shooting. Below is the shutter release, switching between cameras and the entrance to the gallery of images.

Other characteristics: display 5.7 inches with a resolution of 2560x1440 pixels, the latest operating system Android 6.0, 64 GB of permanent and 3 GB of RAM, support for two SIM cards.

Chinese camera phones: Huawei Google Nexus 6P

4th place. Samsung Galaxy Note 5

7

Price from 34 440 (the price depends on the amount of permanent memory). The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 64Gb model, costing from 42 thousand rubles, received 57% of the fives according to reviews in Yandex-Market. Like all flagships from Samsung, this model is distinguished by a high-quality camera. Phone Arena, comparing cameras from the main flagship models of 2015, put the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 in the first place, which this model shared with the iPhone 6S Plus and Nexus 6P. In a blind camera test among Android Authority visitors, the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 scored 34% of the vote, slightly behind the iPhone 6S (38%).

The camera of the Galaxy Note 5 is similar in characteristics to the Samsung Galaxy S6: the main camera is 16 megapixels, the front camera is 5 megapixels.

Other characteristics: 5.7-inch screen with 2560x1440 resolution, Android 5.1 operating system, 64 GB of internal and 4 GB of RAM, support for one SIM card.

3rd place. Apple iPhone 6s 64GB

8

The average price is 55,800 rubles. The flagship from the cult American company received 49% of fives in reviews in Yandex-Market. Specifications: 4.7-inch 1334x750 screen, 12MP main camera and 5MP front camera, 64GB of internal storage and 2GB of RAM. Like all iPhones, it only supports one SIM card. Quotes from the review of the portal w3bsit3-dns.com:

"The main camera has become 12-megapixel, but its most noticeable difference from its predecessor is improved noise reduction algorithms. Even in low-light conditions in the room, small details (such as inscriptions on the labels of bottles in a bar) remain distinguishable and are not clogged with artifacts. Sometimes at high magnification, a slight blurring the boundaries of the object, however, the contours still remain sufficiently clear, which simplifies their subsequent processing.

The front-facing camera is much better and now features Retina Flash: when taking selfies, the screen momentarily flashes a bright pink-yellow light, acting as a special flash to illuminate the face, which maintains the correct white balance. Something similar was implemented a couple of years ago in other smartphones on Android, but very few people remember about it. "

"The camera" learned "to shoot 4K video, and not for the sake of subsequent viewing on so far rarely seen 4K TVs, but for the sake of being able to enlarge the required fragment of the recording and see all the details."

The result for the camera of the 6th iPhone from w3bsit3-dns.com is as follows: "The camera, if you believe the latest comparative tests and blind votes, is no longer the best, but you can't blame the device for the quality of the pictures either."

2nd place. Samsung Galaxy S6 SM-G920F 32Gb

9

In May 2015, the w3bsit3-dns.com portal wrote: "Both the Galaxy S6 and its brother Galaxy S6 edge are two smartphones with the best built-in camera for today. Samsung gives all photography lovers pleasure - the pleasure of shooting." In 2016, the Samsung Galaxy S6 lost its first place among camera phones, but continues to be one of the best.

The average price of the model is 34,990 rubles, which is significantly less than that of the new Samsung flagship - Galaxy S7. Galaxy S6 has received 52% of fives in reviews in Yandex-Market. The main camera is 16 megapixels, the front one is 5 megapixels. Regardless of the region, your device may have either a Samsung ISOCELL sensor or a Sony IMX20. Main camera functions: automatic real-time HDR processing, optical image stabilization, and infrared sensor. The camera takes great pictures even after sunset. Quote from the review of the portal w3bsit3-dns.com: "In the dark, the camera takes excellent pictures that you would not expect to see on a smartphone screen. The illuminated objects and the sky look very expressive, the lights do not flood the frame with blurry light, the contrast is transmitted naturally. In general, at night you can shoot without fear of getting a set of light and dark spots instead of a spectacular shot. "

Quote from one of the buyers of this model: "Camera is a fire. Very high quality pictures, we took a photo of a soft cloth toy - when approaching, each thread is visible separately! A separate plus is the same folding screen. It looks in real life as if water was poured onto a flat screen." a slide. "That is, it protrudes slightly upward, it also shines and gives a pleasant roundness)) The display itself caresses the eye, everything is very clear - it even seemed to me that my vision had improved dramatically."

The 5.1-inch screen has a 2560x1440 resolution. The built-in memory is 32GB and the RAM is 3GB. Operating system - Android 5.0 Lollipop. Perhaps the only drawback of this model is that it only supports one SIM card.

1st place. Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge 32Gb

10

The new flagship from the leading smartphone manufacturer in South Korea and worldwide went on sale in March 2016. The average price for this model is 54,290 rubles. The model received 51% of the top fives in reviews in Yandex-Market. The technical characteristics of the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge 32Gb are pleasantly surprising: a 5.5-inch screen with an incredible 2560x1440 resolution, the latest Android 6.0 operating system, 32 GB of permanent and 4 GB of RAM, support for two SIM cards. But the main advantage of this model is the camera. The Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge 32Gb has a 12MP main camera and a 5MP front camera. Samsung cites the following advantages of the camera in this smartphone: a lens of higher aperture (F1.7) and larger pixels of the matrix (1.4 microns) capture much more light, which allows you to consistently get clear and detailed photos even in low light conditions; smartphones support Dual Pixel technology: all pixels of the matrix have two photodiodes, and not one each, which allows the sensor to focus as quickly and clearly as the human eye, and Dual Pixel technology provides such fast and flawless autofocusing that you can capture even the sharpest driving in low light conditions; for the first time, you can capture motion in the animated panorama mode.

Last year's flagship Samsung Galaxy S6 had a Sony IMX240 sensor and a 16MP main camera. The S7 has a new sensor - Sony IMX260 with a resolution of 4 megapixels less. Portal w3bsit3-dns.com in a review of Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge 32Gb writes: "Samsung made an interesting step by completely changing the camera after the success in the previous generation. Only after trying a new device in business, you understand that it was no coincidence, and no one in the Korean company would accept the decision to change the excellent module to the one that is worse. In the opinion of ordinary people, four megapixels are really lost, but an experienced amateur photographer will tell you that happiness is not in the number of megapixels. " "Samsung Galaxy S7 edge sets a new quality standard for cameras in smartphones for at least the next year. For excellent photos both day and night, spectacular videos, optical stabilization and many shooting modes, the editors of w3bsit3-dns.com marks the SGS7 edge with the" Nice Shot "sign."

As a rule, all top-end camera phones are equipped with Sony matrices. True, the models of Sony itself do not reach the top lines of our rating of camera phones - in addition to the quality of the matrix, post-processing is of great importance, which already differs from phone to phone at the software level. This complicates the selection of a suitable camera phone according to its characteristics a little: the meticulous buyer in each case will have to study the reviews and sample photos.

The main thing is not to chase the resolution: 16 megapixels is quite enough for photos from a mobile phone. Much more important is the possibility of video shooting (if, of course, you also need video from the camera): support for 4K resolution, frame rates when shooting in different resolutions, slow motion mode. From the photo, you can clarify whether the camera supports shooting in RAW, look at the flash modes and the type of flash itself. Modern camera phones are equipped with a flash with multiple LEDs that glow in different shades of white - for the most accurate white balance.

New trend - dual camera

Last year, LG introduced the first smartphone with a dual camera to the market. Since then, the firm has been joined by brands such as Apple, Huawei, and now Honor. In this way, manufacturers want to bring smartphone cameras closer to conventional ones and bypass a number of restrictions. However, does the introduction of a second lens really improve image quality?
Interestingly, the dual camera is the dual camera.

So, at present, each manufacturer is working on its own technology that is different from others, so it is difficult to compare one-on-one models. For example, the G5 dual camera consists of two sensors and two lenses with different focal lengths and apertures. Huawei has one of the cameras - black and white, it allows you to get sharper pictures, which also increases the sharpness of pictures from the main, color camera. Like the LG G5, the cameras have different focal lengths, but the secondary camera is equipped not with a wide-angle lens like the Koreans, but with a telephoto lens.

: Unrivaled camera

This new product has a 16-megapixel main camera with a matrix manufactured by Sonу. In our test, shots taken in daylight scored excellent, and good in low light. A single LED flash on the back illuminates dark scenes, but not always perfectly.

Comprehensive camera equipment (optical image stabilization, RAW support, 4K video recording, manual mode) raises the score in the corresponding test category to 100 points. The high resolution of the front camera also contributes to this. The OnePlus 3T is significantly better than all its competitors in terms of camera quality, which is especially pleasant given their low price.

Huawei Nova Plus: Affordable and Modern

Some of the models that have received high places in our rating are the flagships of the past, and today their obsolescence is already noticeable. In particular, this concerns the LG G4. Therefore, we offer a smartphone as the best purchase - it was released in the fall of 2016, it has high performance, a good screen and an impressive camera.

For selfies, a front-facing camera with a resolution of eight megapixels is available. The corresponding application provides numerous shooting modes and a variety of settings. Thus, even amateurs in this business will be able to get good quality pictures. The only problem is with the Perfect Selfie mode. Here, the smartphone blurs the image too much.

Good cameras in smartphones are no longer a rarity. Shooting quality is far from the last factor that people pay attention to when choosing a model. Our selection is dedicated to smartphones that will successfully replace the "soap box" in your pocket!

The long-awaited phablet of the Samsung brand and a pioneer with two cameras (12 + 12 MP) and a fast lens - f / 1.7, portrait - f / 2.4. Front camera 8 MP autofocus and aperture f / 1.7. Both main camera modules have optical stabilization, which has a positive effect on video and photo quality, especially in low light. When it comes to shooting in low light, the Note 8 simply "tears up the competition"; there is no better smartphone for such a task. Thanks to the second lens, you can take a photo with a blurred background (bokeh effect).

The principle of the camera is similar to its predecessor. The first camera is widescreen, the other is portrait. Aperture f / 1.8 and f / 2.8. The smartphone is equipped with a dual 12-megapixel camera, optical stabilization, AutoHDR function. Among the "tricks" of the camera, you can highlight the Portrait Lightning mode, which allows you to complement the background with studio lighting effects in the "portrait" mode.

The spring flagship has identical data to last year's S7: 12MP, 1.4μm pixel size, a similar f / 1.7 lens, optical stabilization and Dual Pixel technology. However, thanks to software enhancements, the company has taken the camera to the next level: instant focus, faster burst shooting, faster operation and most importantly, improved camera performance in low light conditions.

Huawei p10

The Huawei P10 smartphone has all the modern trends - a dual camera, hybrid autofocus, optical stabilization. However, the purpose of the second module is different, it is monochrome and acts as an assistant to the first one. Thanks to the monochrome lens, images are captured with a wide dynamic range, great detail and accurate color reproduction. The inscription "Leica" proudly flaunts next to the cameras, because a well-known German company that produces premium cameras and optics participated in the creation of the camera.

The LG G6 also boasts dual cameras, but they take a different approach than others. It is a dual 13 MP camera with f / 1.8 and f / 2.4 apertures, respectively. The viewing angle of the first module is 71 °, while the second is 125 °, which allows you to capture more details in the frame. If you love capturing landscapes, architecture and large groups of friends, the LG G6 is sure to be your go-to companion.

HTC U11

The Taiwanese company HTC has always been famous for the quality of its products. HTC U11 is no exception. The smartphone has many strengths that have allowed it to take pride of place among the top-end camera phones. The HTC camera uses a 12MP module with a pixel size of 1.4 microns. The aperture is f / 1.7, there is optical stabilization and a Profi-mode, which allows you to manually set the values of aperture, shutter speed and ISO. Photos taken with the HTC U11 camera differ from competitors in high resolution and low noise. In addition to all the listed advantages, the smartphone can record 4K video with 3D sound.

Samsung Galaxy S7

Although the smartphone was announced more than a year ago, do not rush to write off the "grandfather"! It is now one of the most balanced and affordable flagship camera phones out there. Familiar to us in the S8 12MP with a pixel size of 1.4 microns. will surprise you again. In constant updates, Samsung engineers present us with improved algorithms, which significantly improves the quality of shooting last year's flagship and compares it with the new products of 2017.

The market leader is the iPhone 7 Plus. A smartphone that can give a head start in video quality even to the newly announced flagships. The remarkable performance of the optical stabilizer coupled with the software implementation makes it the benchmark in the Video category. Portrait mode with good bokeh and 2x zoom without loss of quality became the main features of the iPhone 7 Plus. If you want a top-of-the-line smartphone for a lower price (compared to current flagships), the iPhone 7 is your choice.

Asus Zenfone 4

The brainchild of Asus - Zenfone 4 was announced with the slogan "We love photos." One cannot but agree, because the smartphone is equipped with a 12 MP camera with f / 1.8 aperture and fast phase detection autofocus, and a special RGB sensor is used to correct the white balance. An additional module is a wide-angle 8 MP with an angle of 120 °. The principle of operation is the same as in the LG G6. The smartphone is equipped with a high-quality optical stabilizer, so the pictures are clear, and the video with good smoothness. Pro-mode has a rich set of options: focus, shutter speed, ISO, exposure and white balance. You can change the white parameters, ISO value and focus directly during video shooting, which was previously only available in professional cameras.

The Huawei Nova 2 is one of the most affordable camera phones around. Equipped with a dual-camera system, the first is 12 MP with f / 1.8 aperture, and the secondary camera is 8 MP with f / 2.4 aperture. In almost all scenarios of use, the smartphone shoots on a par with the flagship P10, however, in low light conditions, the P10 takes over due to the fast lens. Among the smartphones of the smartphone, it is worth highlighting the possibility of 2x magnification without loss of quality. Huawei Nova 2 has earned the reputation of a balanced and productive smartphone with an affordable price tag.

Now, in 2016, more and more professional photographers began to turn their attention to mobile photography, they believe that the future belongs to it. After all, it makes it possible to record every moment of our life. APPTIME editors decided to prepare for you the top 8 best camera phones, which are recognized by amateurs and professionals.

Lg g3

In recent years, the South Korean company has been increasingly pleasing consumers with the quality of its products. Each new smartphone gets its own unique "chip" and this cannot but delight. In particular, the latest LG phones began to receive top-end cameras. LG G3 is a smartphone released in 2014 and during this time managed to collect millions of fans around the world.

The G3 has a 13MP camera and a large display (5.46 inches). One of the main advantages is a good photo editor, which is built into the phone out of the box. It is also impossible not to mention the "magic focus" mode, which is able to change the focus on the photo, after the shooting. The camera phone is capable of taking very decent pictures, even in low light.

Photo from the camera LG G3

The bright 5.46 HD display is perfect for entertainment with friends. In conclusion, we can say that the phone is still more suitable for amateurs than professionals.

Lg g4

Another "brainchild" of the South Korean company. If you look at the characteristics of the G4, then nothing shocking and striking the imagination can be seen, but looking closer you will understand that the company is on the right path, preferring not dizzying numbers, but the real quality of the device.

In this model, the screen has been significantly improved, now the color rendition has become even more juicy, and the brightness and contrast have increased by several points. The camera is equipped with a spectral infrared sensor, which allows you to accurately determine the shades, and the lens has one of the most sensitive apertures.

Photo from the camera LG G4

The camera has a lot of settings, which allows you to customize it very flexibly.

Samsung Galaxy Note 5

The Korean giant was once one of the first to introduce the fashion for quality cameras. And now, from year to year, each smartphone of this company becomes a hit of sales. This phone is designed to fit comfortably in your hand.

The display of this device has a very high resolution and excellent color reproduction, as well as excellent sensor responsiveness. Chic iron. The camera does not require comment as Samsung continues to improve its "soap boxes" to the level of DSLRs.

Photos from the camera Samsung Galaxy Note 5

The resolution is 16 MP. The Galaxy Note 5 boasts excellent shooting quality in any light. Basically, we can confidently say that the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is a phone that will suit both professionals and amateurs.

Lenovo VIBE Shot

Lenovo is a company that has started to assert itself more and more loudly in the last couple of years. Smartphones from this company belong to the mid-price category, so you should not expect very powerful results. But, against all odds, Lenovo managed to create a phone that would be of high quality and relatively inexpensive.

Lenovo VIBE Shot has an edge-to-edge display, and the flagship is equipped with a decent processor. Lenovo uses the South Korean S5K2P8 BSI sensor, unlike Samsung. Despite many disadvantages (due to the low price), IR autofocus and optical stabilization allow VIBE Shot to take good pictures.

Photo from the camera Lenovo VIBE Shot

Also a plus can be called the physical buttons for switching modes and shutter, they can help if the ambient light reflects the screen and it becomes dark. In conclusion, I will say that Lenovo VIBE Shot is a good camera phone, but it is still far from the top flagships.

Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge +

The camera phone from Koreans has a unique display design, it has a curved screen and smooth edges. The main camera of the phone is equipped with a Sony Exmor sensor, which allows you to take good pictures with almost no light.

For advanced photographers, there is a Pro mode. Unfortunately, the camera phone is not equipped with laser focusing, but this does not greatly overshadow the operation of the smartphone.

Overall, the S6 Edge will suit all users, whether they are advanced, seasoned photographers or casual users.

Sony Xperia Z5 Compact

Everyone knows that Sony is a company that always follows market trends, this is reflected in the Xperia Z5 - the entire smartphone is dressed in a stylish glass case. The device is made in the most minimalistic design.

The display of the device is also pleasing - Full HD and 4K. It's worth noting that Sony makes some of the very best cameras in the world, but for their own smartphone, they haven't been able to unleash their full potential.

But 23 MP cameras make up for the underdeveloped software shell.

Meizu PRO 5

Recently, Chinese companies have been making their way to the market more and more actively, while offering consumers really high-quality goods. Meizu PRO 5 has a good screen (full HD).

And by the way, the camera is equipped with a new sensor from Sony, as well as laser autofocus. The lens of the device is protected by a sapphire crystal. But, unfortunately, everyone has an "Achilles heel" and for Meizu PRO 5 this is weak software.

There is no technical support on this device, so you can't count on optimizing the software for hardware in the near future.

Apple iPhone 6S Plus

None of the top mobile devices are complete without smartphones from the apple company. Apple has been showing us a great example of how resolution and image quality can be combined over the years.

The iPhone 6S Plus gives us excellent color reproduction and excellent white balance. Apple is good because for several years they have not been chasing crazy trends in pixel increase, because the iPhone has enough photography resources, both for an ordinary user and for a picky professional.

In conclusion, I will say that Apple has created a gorgeous camera phone that, in the absence of crazy technical specifications, produces professional images.

Mobile photography is now more and more difficult to distinguish in quality from a picture taken by a SLR camera, especially if these are standard frames, without the use of ultrazoom, fisheye and other specific lenses. In early March, Barcelona hosted the MWC 2017 exhibition, which is dedicated to mobile devices, and the topic of photography is practically not touched upon. In any case, this was the case before, but now that the smartphone has become the most popular photographic technique, we simply cannot ignore the new achievements of the industry. So, today we will look at five new products in the mobile market that can save you the trouble of buying a compact camera. Or maybe even an entry-level DSLR.

Sony Xperia XZ Premium and Xperia XZs

Sony seems to be tired of the megapixel race and is finally starting to use common sense. The new flagship handset has a 19 megapixel camera instead of the previous 23, and this should very well reflect on the quality of the images. In addition, the module has learned super-fast shooting - up to 960 frames per second. When recording a video in a special mode, you can take a few seconds of slow motion. True, all this is possible only at a resolution of 1280 × 720 pixels.

Well, in general, such a leap in video shooting capabilities became possible thanks to the new hardware base. Sony Xperia XZ Premium will be the world's first smartphone based on the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset. The central processing unit contains 8 cores, four of which operate at speeds up to 2.5 GHz, and the other four - up to 1.9 GHz. There is also 4 gigabytes of RAM.

The new Sony flagship looks stern, and in the hand it is perceived as a very massive and extremely stylish thing. Display with a diagonal of 5.5 inches has a "dual" resolution: either Full HD (1080 × 1920), or the coveted 4K. Top resolution is available only when watching video; it is not entirely clear why the company went to such half-measures, but it just so happened. The screen has changed: Compared to the Xperia Z5 Premium, the color gamut exceeds the sRGB space by 35%. How much this model will cost in Russia is not yet known, but you can buy it already in May 2017.

For those who can't afford the XZ Premium, Sony will also have a cheaper model, the Xperia XZs. This is an updated version of last year's Xperia XZ. No external differences, just a new camera, exactly the same as the Xperia XZ Premium.

Huawei P10 and P10 Plus

Huawei continues to develop smartphones with dual cameras. This year, the flagship handset will be released in two versions at once. The first, the P10, will be relatively compact with a 5.1-inch screen, while the second, the P10 Plus, will be larger due to the 5.5-inch screen. In the first case, the screen resolution will be Full HD (1080 × 1920 pixels), and in the second - Quad HD (1440 × 2560).

Both versions use an 8-core HiSilicon Kirin 960 processor and have 4 gigabytes of RAM each. However, if you wish, you can order the P10 Plus with 6 gigabytes of RAM. But the main thing is that in terms of cameras, there are no differences between smartphones.

Leica took part in the development of the new photo module, which last year signed a long-term cooperation agreement with Huawei. So, both new smartphones use dual modules, and the sensor in each of them has a resolution of 12 megapixels. True, one shoots in normal mode, and the other in black and white. In theory, this should give a wider dynamic range and improve the quality of shooting in low light. Past Huawei smartphones (P9, Mate 9 and Honor 8) shot amazingly well, so expectations are very high for the P10 too. The most affordable model will cost 35 thousand rubles, and you can buy it literally within a month.

Lg g6

LG also prefers to use dual cameras, at least in high-end smartphones. The brand new LG G6 also received two "eyes" with a resolution of 13 megapixels. True, the very principle by which the dual camera works in LG mobile phones is slightly different from what Huawei offers. The approach here is rather closer to the one used by Apple. The lenses on the cameras are different, one has a viewing angle of 71 degrees, the other - 125, and switching between them gives a 2x optical zoom. True, the G6 does not have a full-fledged portrait mode, its camera is more likely to come in handy for shooting landscapes - such a wide viewing angle is not yet available to competitors.

Another interesting feature is the non-standard aspect ratio of the display, 18: 9 (or 2: 1) instead of the popular 16: 9. As the company explains, it is more convenient to hold a smartphone with a large diagonal, and the screen in horizontal mode can be divided into two squares, which will refresh the look at the interface of familiar applications.

The company did not use hardware too much - instead of the newest Snapdragon 835, there is last year's Snapdragon 821. And although this processor is not formally the newest, its performance is still sufficient for all tasks with a margin of a couple of years. In Russia LG G6 should appear in April-May, but the approximate retail price is not yet known.

Oppo 5x

But this is not yet a ready-made smartphone, but only a concept that has every chance to enter the market this year. The development of the Chinese company Oppo is notable for the fact that it makes a fivex optical zoom. The camera is located perpendicular to the usual layout - horizontally, and its height is only 5.7 mm, that is, hypothetically, it will fit into any smartphone without any inconvenience.

Luminous flux is reflected in an OIS lens that is offset by 90 degrees. It allows you to make three times the optical zoom. Fivefold is achieved using software image processing obtained from two lenses.

Thanks to this development, the quality of images at maximum zoom should be significantly improved. In addition, the Oppo 5x uses an advanced OIS mechanism to reduce shaking. In what smartphones the novelty will appear, it is not reported, but some sources claim that Oppo will release a smartphone with such a camera on the market in the summer. We will definitely keep you informed.

Samsung Galaxy S8

Well, the real king-background on Android has not yet been officially announced. Samsung promises to reveal all the cards already on March 29, which we will definitely tell you about separately. However, something is already known about the Galaxy S8. It will be released in two form factors: with a screen diagonal of 5.7 and 6.2 inches. The larger model will be called the Galaxy S8 +. But the camera resolution will remain the same - 12 megapixels. The main news so far has become the ability to shoot HD-video with a frequency of up to 1000 frames per second. And technically, that's more than the Xperia XZ Premium.

The front camera will receive a sensor with a resolution of 8 megapixels, as well as a sensor for scanning the iris of the eye. For Samsung, such a solution is no longer a novelty, the same scanner was also in the infamous Galaxy Note 7. And all this is needed for additional security - it is believed that there are people in the world with matching fingerprints, but the iris is unique in all cases ...

All in all, the Galaxy S8 will be the only smartphone to compete on an equal footing with the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus in terms of sales and adoption. And surely the Koreans will again find something to surprise, so we will return to the topic of the new flagship Galaxy.
