Adding new cars to GTA San Andreas. How to install mods, namely cars in GTA San Andreas

"GTA" is a series of games famous for the freedom of action provided to the player, as well as a huge variety of cars that you have direct access to. Most often, gamers do not complain that they lack one or another machine. But at the same time, sometimes you really want to get some kind of car, which, unfortunately, is not in the game. It would seem, but in fact you can quite fix everything. The fact is that there are all kinds of modifications that allow you to install various additions to the game. Naturally, with the help of modifications, you can solve your problem with cars. So, if you want to know how to install cars that are not in the game itself in GTA: San Andreas, this article is for you.

Downloading the required files

There are a lot of resources on the net about this game. And if you want to know how to install cars in GTA: San Andreas, then you first need to find the models that you would like to see. After that, you need to download them to your computer, because further installation will be done directly from it. No more network connection is needed - all the effects that the mod has on the game occur locally, that is, only on your PC. However, this is just the first step in the difficult journey of learning how to install cars in GTA: San Andreas. Further it will be a little more complicated, but if you do everything in accordance with the instructions, then there should be no problems.

What is in the archive?

Most often, which you would like to add to your game, are in the archive. But what is inside? How to install cars in GTA: San Andreas with only zipped files? Naturally, first you need to unzip them using the appropriate program. You should not immediately extract them to the game folder, as this process will be a little more subtle and require you to take extra steps. There can be two different sets of files inside an archive. The first and most common option is simply the files that are responsible for adding specific textures and features of the car to the game. The second one is more pleasant for the user - it includes not only the car files themselves, but also an installer with which you can more conveniently introduce new cars into the game. With the help of such a program in GTA: San Andreas, it will become much easier to install cars.

Using the installer

It's worth starting with a more favorable option, in which you have an installer, and it will do most of the work for you. If you still don’t understand, on cars in GTA: San Andreas, then here’s a little hint for you - you don’t need to touch any other files except for the exe mod itself. Run it, and then you will only need to follow the instructions. Select the folder where you installed the game, open the category with cars and their textures in it, select the car that you would like to replace with a new one, and then specify the path to the files that should be embedded into the game. After that, you can safely run GTA, and instead of the car you have chosen, there will be a new one that you yourself have identified and downloaded. As you can see, the question of how to install cars on GTA: San Andreas is not so complicated. In principle, everything is not so complicated even if you are not provided with an installer that will guide you through all the installation steps.

Self-copying files

If you do not have an installer, then do not be afraid that you will have to do everything yourself - the process is not so complicated, so you can do it without any problems if you follow the instructions clearly. So, pay attention to what a car is in file form. Most often, these are two files with the extensions txd and dff, which together make up a specific model of the machine. Accordingly, in the game folder in the category of cars you will find a whole set of similar pairs of files that are responsible for all the cars that are in GTA: San Andreas. Luckily, they're all signed exactly as the cars are called in the game, so it won't be hard for you to find the car you'd like to get rid of. Choose a machine, delete two files, and in their place write down what you downloaded from the Web. That's the whole secret, nothing more is required of you.

Creating backups

Given the fact that you will need to remove cars from the game in order to record new ones in their place, it becomes more relevant for you. If you want to return the model that was previously removed from the game, nothing will work for you unless you have created a backup copy of this car. Therefore, it is strongly recommended that you copy the files that you delete to a separate folder so that you can quickly return them later. Otherwise, you will have to completely reinstall the game in order for the car models you deleted to return.

Hello, in this article I will teach you how to add cars to the GTA San Andreas game without replacing the standard ones. To get started, you will need ASI Loader, Vehicle Audio Editor Ultimate 1.3, SA Handling Adder Ultimate, GXT Editor 1.2, Imgtool, SA More Vehicles Plugin.
Let's start:

1. To get started, choose the car you like, see that the archive contains files with *.dff and *.txd extensions. It is also desirable that there be a text document (author's note - ReadMe.txt). I chose a 2008 GMC Yukon. I had the following files in the archive: huntley.dff, huntley.txd, readme.txt.

2. Further, I will write everything using my example. Unzip the files to some folder. And rename them. I renamed mine like this: gmcyukon.dff and gmcyukon.txd, respectively, readme should not be renamed.
3. Drop the files from the archives ASI Loader, VehicleAudioEditorUltimate, SAHandlingAdderUltimate and SAMoreVehicles into the root folder with the game replacing existing files.
4. Open the game archive \GTA_San_Andreas\models\gta3.img with the IMG Tool and load the gmcyukon.dff and gmcyukon.txd files into it with the Commands->Add command or the Ctrl+A hotkey combination.
PS.: The game may stop accepting archives weighing more than 2GB. In this case, I advise you to create a new img-archive and register it in the \GTA_San_Andreas\data\gta.dat file. I will explain how to do this later...
5. Now open the \GTA_San_Andreas\data\vehicles.ide file with notepad. In the readme I have this line:
579, huntley, huntley, car, HUNTLEY, HUNTLEY, null, richfamily, 6, 7, 0, -1, 0.80, 0.80, 0
I edited it to this:
18631, gmcyukon, gmcyukon, car, HUNTLEY, GMCYUK, null, richfamily, 10, 0, 0, -1, 0.80, 0.80, 0
*1 is a free ID
*2 is the name of the dff file (I have gmcyukon.dff)
*3 is the name of the txd file (I have gmcyukon.txd)
*5 - variable in handling.cfg (may not be changed)
*6 - variable for the name of the car in the game, we will consider a little later
* the rest can be left unchanged
Now we add the finished line, edited, to the vehicles.ide file at the very end.
6. With the same notepad, open the \GTA_San_Andreas\data\carcols.dat file. In the readme I had the line:
huntley, 37.37, 42.42, 53.53, 62.62, 7.7, 10.10, 11.11, 15.15
I edited it:
gmcyukon, 37.37, 42.42, 53.53, 62.62, 7.7, 10.10, 11.11, 15.15
And now we add the finished line to the carcols.dat file in alphabetical order.
7. Next, open the \GTA_San_Andreas\data\carmods.dat file with notepad. In the readme I had the line:
huntley, nto_b_l, nto_b_s, nto_b_tw
I edited it:
gmcyukon, nto_b_l, nto_b_s, nto_b_tw
And now we add the finished line to the carmods.dat file in alphabetical order in our group of machines. We don't need the Readme anymore.
8. *1) Open "VehicleAudioData.ini" with any text
editor.
*2) At the beginning of the file there is a block "ID" s", he is responsible for loading
specific IDs or their range.
Parameters:
Number_of_pairs - number of "FromID_X - ToID_X" pairs
FromID_X - initial download ID
ToID_X - final haload ID
Instead of "X" there should be a number indicating the number of the pair.
Let's say if you need to load additional IDs, then the number of pairs
point to the one we need (2), then add the parameters
FromID_2 and ToID_2 , and specify the start and end range
required/free IDs.
*3) The main part of the file is the audio parameters of the machines. Every block
those. each machine represents a separate segment, the name
which corresponds to the ID of this machine.
Example:

CarType=0
EngineOnSound=99
EngineOffSound=98
Unknown4=0
Unknown5=0.779999971389771
Unknown6=1
HornTon=7
HornHigh=1
DoorSound=2
RadioNum=8
RadioType=0
Unknown12=0
Unknown13=0
Unknown14=0
Unknown15=0
Unknown16=0
Here is an option:

9. You can skip this item if you think you don't need it.

Open `HandlingAdder.ini` with any text editor.
The `Count` parameter is the number of handles specified in the block,
- a block in which the real ID (IDE) of the car is indicated, then go
blocks with names that were specified in .
Pay attention to the Index parameter in the blocks, which points to
HandlingID of the original handling (ancestor) of our new one.
And in the blocks, the parameters are already familiar. File `DefaultCarHandling.txt`
contains standard handling in a form acceptable to adder "a

(example hook)
For example - Colorblind Vasily thinks that he collects a Rubik's cube for
ten seconds... uh... not that... oh yeah - in the supplied `HandlingAdder.ini`
parameter Count=1 , i.e. only 1 ID is added/replaced in the block
this same ID is indicated - this is 411, aka Infernus, that is, if
ID is 411 , then there should be a block with a name - yes, there is one.
The Index parameter in the block is 11 , which means the ancestor of our handling
in `HandlingAdder.ini` is the handling found in `Handling.cfg` on
line number 11 (INFERNUS ... blah blah blah...)(numbering from zero) .

PS2: The same is done with new added cars.
PS3: The optimal Index is the 11th from the infernus, it works
almost everything, in fact, index does not affect the parameters in any way,
because they are all read from a file. For example, I generally
couldn't get the DUNE truck to work with the new one
handling on any Index "e - that is, whatever one may say, but bugs
are and will be, though not significant.
PS4: When adding a new car, you need to write an existing one in Vehicles.ide
HandlingID .

The best way to add a car is to increase the Count, add a new ID
to block , then copy block Infernus"a from `DefCarHandling.txt`
to our `HandlingAdder.ini` , change its name to our ID (of type ) ,
save, start the game, if it works on this handling - change the parameters
and rejoice
Here is an option:

10. It remains the case for the small. Open the \GTA_San_Andreas\text\american.gxt file with GXT Edit. Go to the MAIN block. Command Entry->Add we cause a window with a line. In this line we write what we wrote back in vehicles.ide, i.e. GMCYUK (author's note). Click OK. Now in the largest right window we write the name of the machine (In English, it does not perceive other languages). I have this: GMC Yukon '08. We save.
11. Open \GTA_San_Andreas\data\cargrp.dat with any text editor. There are groups there. Register the cars in any group you would like to see them in...
That's it, now you can safely ride and look for cars ;-)

Here's what happened:

GTA SA is an extensive game with a huge number of possibilities. The game has many variations of weapons, vehicles and role-playing opportunities. However, over time, all these opportunities can become boring and not cause the former ardor. In such a case, players start installing modifications and digging into the game files to make the game more fun and interesting.

You can replace not only the player's skin, NPS, weapons, but also car skins, as well as add new cars or other things. However, not every gamer understands how to add cars to GTA SA on their own. Let's consider this question.

How to add or replace the skin of cars in GTA SA

There are two ways to add and replace cars in GTA SA.

Method one

The first method is difficult because it is necessary to install mods and skins on cars manually. Therefore, it can be used by experienced moderators and users who understand this issue.

It is done like this:

  1. Install the program IMG Tool 2.0.
  2. In the program window, open the GTA3.img file, which is located in the models folder.
  3. We find the .dff and .txd extension files, which are responsible for the car models.
  4. There are two options: delete files from one machine and insert new ones, or replace them. In the second method, select the desired file and click "replase". After that, we take the downloaded machine skin files and replace the old ones with them.
  5. Then we take the data from the VEHICLES.IDE file of the downloaded car skin and copy it to the handlinch.cfg file. These files are opened with a regular text editor. This must be done so that new cars in the game do not "buggy".

After that, you can start the game and enjoy new car models.

Method two

In this way, installing new machines will be much easier. For this you need:

  1. Download and install Garage Mod Manager.
  2. In the program window, you need to rewrite the VEHICLES.IDE, handlinch.cfg, carcols.dat files using similar files from car mods.
  3. Specify the path to the mod files in the last lines.
  4. We start installing files and wait for the end.

After that, you can use new machines.

GTA 5 has a huge collection of all kinds of vehicles in its assortment, which can satisfy the needs of almost all fans of this series of games from Rockstar Games, as well as ordinary enthusiasts. However, sometimes in GTA 5 you want to see some unusual car, which, in principle, cannot be in the world of the Car Theft. What to do in this case?

Answer: just take it and add it to the game. You can easily find files with the car you need on the net, and then insert them into GTA 5. There are three ways in which you can add the desired vehicles to the last part of GTA - replacement, automatic and addon. In this guide, we will look at these methods. First, let's look at the replacement method,

How to install cars in GTA 5

Installing mods on cars in GTA 5 - a way to replace

First, let's turn to the method of installing a vehicle in GTA 5 through replacement, since it is much more reliable than its automatic version. To start installing the desired vehicles, you need to go to the official website of the OpenIV utility and download the latest version of it from there.

Once you download the installer to your computer, run the file ovisetup.exe and install the OpenIV utility in the specified directory (it cannot be changed). This is where the most difficult part begins. Having previously downloaded the car you need from a third-party resource, you probably already read on the mod page that its application is carried out by the principle of replacing the files of the original vehicle with the files of the modified one.

In order to best explain the process of replacing one vehicle with another, let's take a look at one small example. An explanation of the process will be given using the Bugatti Veyron mod as an example, with which you can add the car of the same name to the GTA 5 game world. Download the archive with this mod, and then extract the files from it to any directory convenient for you on your computer, for example, to the Desktop. So, to add a Bugatti Veyron replacement to GTA 5, you will need to do the following:

  • open the installed program OpenIV;
  • specify which game you want to interact with and set the path to the game's executable file - GTA5.exe;
  • then you need to activate the Editing mode in the utility - click the corresponding button in the window menu bar;
  • go to directory GTAV\mods\x64e.rpf\levels\gta5\vehicles.rpf
  • highlight extracted files Adder.ytd, Adder_hi.ytd, Adder.ytd(they are located in the Replace folder of the downloaded mod) and drag them into the OpenIV program window;

Ready. You confirm the replacement of the files of the original Adder, after which the real Bugatti Veyron will start racing on the streets of Los Santos instead. As you can see, the process of adding a car through replacement in GTA 5 is extremely simple and does not take more than five or ten minutes.

Of course, different vehicle mods will have different directories for replacing the original vehicles, so you will always have to carefully read the information posted by the author of the modification. As a rule, most of the vehicles you need will be located in the following three directories:

  • GTA5\x64e.rpf\levels\gta5\vehicles.rpf
  • GTA5\update\x64\dlcpacks\patchday2ng\levels\gta5\vehicles.rpf\
  • GTA5\x64w.rpf\dlcpacks\mphipster\dlc.rpf\x64\levels\gta5\vehicles\mphipstervehicles.rpf\

In most cases, you will need to open these three directories in OpenIV's Edit mode, but there may be others. Many users also ask the question from time to time: how to find the added car in GTA 5? The answer to it is extremely simple and, having read the material on this page, you probably already guessed what it is like: by the name of the previously replaced transport. You are replacing the original vehicle with a modified one, which means that the name will remain exactly the same.

Installation of cars in GTA 5 - automatic

Ok, if for some reason you do not want to perform the above steps with OpenIV, despite the fact that they are extremely simple, you can use a utility called Vehicle Installer, which will automatically replace the original vehicle with the downloaded modification. Download it from any source convenient for you, and then run it.

You will see a small window with several options. Frankly, the Vehicle Installer program is essentially semi-automatic, so you still have to tinker with the settings in it a little, but everything is much simpler than in the installation method discussed above. Let's quickly figure out what you need to do to install a new vehicle in GTA 5.

  • Download the vehicle you need and place it in any convenient place. Again, you can place it on the desktop.
  • Find in the instructions for the transport mod the directory in which you need to make a replacement, and remember it.
  • Open the Vehicle Installer utility.
  • Select the directory where the root folder with your installed GTA 5 is located.
  • Then select the archive with the loaded vehicle.
  • Now check the box next to the option that will determine in which folder to install the mod - main or for add-ons (look at the instructions for the mod).
  • Click on the "Install" button.

Ready. Automatic installation using the Vehicle Installer is much easier, but you still need to use minimal effort.

How to add a car without replacement in GTA 5?

After reading the above instructions, you may have another question: is it possible to add some kind of transport to GTA 5, but at the same time not replace anything from the original content with it? Of course, there is such a possibility. This method is called adding an addon to the game - and we will now look at how to add a car without replacement in GTA 5.

We will again consider the process of installing the addon in the form of transport using the example of the modification of the Bugatti Veyron, which was used by us in the paragraph about the replacement method. To add an addon to GTA 5, you will again need to resort to the services of the OpenIV program. So if you don't have it yet, download and install from the link above.

Once everything is ready, do the following:

  • drag the "BUGATTI" folder into the directory mods\update\x64\dlcpacks\;
  • open OpenIV in Edit mode and then go to mods\update\update.rpf\common\data;
  • copy the file dlclist.xml, add a line to it dlcpacks:\bugatti\ , and then return back with a replacement;
  • copy extratitleupdatedata.meta, add a line to it

  • dlc_BUGATTI:/
    update:/dlc_patch/BUGATTI/
    ,
    and then return back with a replacement;
  • save changes and close OpenIV.

Adding an addon to GTA 5 is just as easy: insert the vehicle addon files into the GTA 5 files, and then use OpenIV to add a few lines to certain lists. Of course, in the modification instructions for the transport you need, you may need to do something a little differently, but the general principle will remain the same. Also, do not forget that you will need to resort to the services of trainers or other utilities with which you can call the added vehicles to the game world.
