Dir 300nru b5 emergency mode ip address. Configuring WiFi router D-Link dir300 ("gray" interface)

Please note that D-Link has released a number of different hardware revisions of this router lately. Most of them perform extremely poorly and not recommended for installation in the OTN network to be able to receive the full range of services. In particular, on revisions B7, C1, the IPTV service works extremely poorly.
Hardware revisions B5 and B6 can be used with the latest firmware version for them. On the original version from the factory, the problems are similar to those indicated above.
For what reason D-Link does not conduct full testing of its devices, we cannot say, therefore we cannot recommend these routers.

For a long time my friends have been asking me to buy and configure a router for them. We go to the store, buy and set up step by step, and you watch everything that happens, everything will be clear even to a beginner. You can connect any router, it all depends on your perseverance and, of course, patience. Configuring the DIR-300 NRU Router is not difficult, this router is very popular due to its inexpensive price of 1000-1100 rubles and good reliability and works with the operating systems Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7.

  • On the official sites of Russian providers, there are instructions for installing it, but as I noticed outdated revisions b1, b2, b3, the web interface of the settings is black and brown. In 2011 D-Link updated the web interface, now the router settings windows (including the new model DIR-300NRU b5) is pale green, and the background is white, of course the settings have changed slightly. For providers, everything remained in place. This is confusing for many users who recently bought a router.

At the moment, according to my observations, most often people buy the D-Link DIR-300 NRU b5 model that has Wi-Fi support at speeds up to 150 Mbps, uses an updated settings interface, a built-in firewall and compatibility with 802.11b and 802.11g wireless standards. I advise you to know exactly what you are buying and check everything in the store. I do not recommend buying a router from your hands, as any router during operation may undergo unsuccessful firmware and you will have to roll back to the official firmware.
Attention configuring the D-Link DIR-300 NRU router(revisions HW: b1, b2, b3), is slightly different from the configuration of the DIR-300NRU b5 model router, but the essence is basically the same, now you will see everything for yourself. More information for you: The site has an article How to set up an Asus RT-G32 router, it may be useful to you.

Now about the settings. Before getting on the Internet itself - WAN(global area network) from our home, you and I first go to our internet provider or ISP in VPN- virtual private network, (eg Beeline).

There are few real providers in Russia, there are many sub-providers, in the simple language of intermediaries. But the way in which these providers organize their network depends on how to configure the router.
What is the difference between all providers (providing Internet services) and how does this affect the settings of the router? Nowadays, one half of the providers use the modern network protocol for work. DHCP or IPoE, where the distribution of IP and DNS addresses occurs automatically (I must say it is very convenient for the Internet provider), and for Internet access they use an outdated tunnel protocol PPTP or a new layer 2 tunneling protocol L2TP(combining PPTP and L2F).
The other half of the providers use an outdated protocol PPPoE mainly related to technology хDSL(for example Rostelecom), that is, it uses DSL modems, in the router settings, again, select the PPPoE Connection Type (information at the end of the article) and already configure it a little differently than in the first case. Of course, sometimes there are other features, so before buying a router, my advice to you. Call your provider and find out all the information you need to configure the router, ask about which range of router models to choose from, so as not to suffer later with the settings, firmware and, as you said, by specialists like me.
Now, let's take a closer look at the setup, in my opinion of a very good router from D-Link, DIR-300NRU b5. In general, I set up this router many times, both in the seven and in Windows XP, but unfortunately I did not look at the accompanying manual, but it turns out in fact, as our reader said, nothing is written about Windows 7, but about XP there is information. Don't worry, our router works great on both operating systems.

Let's start with the fact that you need to find out what network protocols your Internet provider works on, you can find out by looking at the contract with him or you need to call the support service of your provider and just ask, this is the best way by the way. Let's start with the most common and simplest configurable network protocol, DHCP. You also need to find out how your provider issues IP addresses, in the case of the DHCP protocol this happens automatically, you can verify this by looking at the Local Connection Properties of your network adapter.
Windows XP... Start - Control Panel - Network Connections - Local Area Connection - Properties - Internet Protocol (TCP / IP)-Properties - Get IP Automatically and .

Windows 7... Start - type View network connections -Local network connection - Properties - Internet Protocol version 4 (TCP / IPv4) and Properties - Obtain IP-automatically and Obtain DNS-server address automatically.

If in your Internet Protocol Properties the Use the following IP address is checked and the addresses are registered, the same addresses must be specified in your agreement with the provider, then your Internet provider is using PPTP or PPPoE. Let's consider configuring a router with these protocols at the end. But before connecting a router with these protocols, you also need to set the Obtain IP-automatically and Obtain DNS-server address automatically in the Internet connection properties.
Let's go to the router settings. If something goes wrong with you, you can always reset the router settings to factory settings by clicking on the button Reset.
We will connect the local Internet cable conducted by your provider to WAN port on the router, as we see it says on it internet, and connect the router and your stationary computer with a network cable (in our case, blue) through LAN port # 1.

Users who are supplied with the Internet using ADSL technology need to connect a cable coming from a DSL modem to the WAN port. As we can see, the DIR-300 router has 4-LAN ports, to which we can connect up to 4 personal computers that do not have Wi-Fi.

Turn on the router, open any browser: Chrome, Opera, Mozilla, Internet Explorer and enter in the address bar 192.168.0.1 and press Enter.

Firmware for download on the official D-Link website.

Click on the WAN line.

One of the main and necessary main windows opens in front of us. Net->Connections

When our ISP uses the DHCP network protocol (a network protocol that allows computers to automatically obtain an IP address), it is not difficult to configure everything here.
Connection type exhibiting IPoE
MTU: defines the maximum packet size in bytes that can be transmitted over the Ethernet network, no more than 1500.
MAC: a unique identifier, if your provider uses binding to a MAC-address, then it must be specified in the contract, if not (in most cases), leave the one that will be set automatically and correspond to the one written on the bottom of the router.
Allow- put a tick
Obtain an IP address automatically put a tick
Obtain DNS server address automatically, we also put a checkmark and our router will automatically pick up the DHCP settings of our provider. Leave the rest as it is and click Save.

Click on the button Status - Network Statistics... In the WAN field, we see information that our router has successfully received the necessary data from the provider and we have the Internet.

Many people sometimes ask: What does the LAN show? Answer. So after all, our computer is connected to the DIR-300 router via a LAN cable, right!
Now we connect a laptop to our router.

Press the Wi-Fi button in the router settings. General settings... We leave everything as default. basic settings we do not touch it either.
Security Settings-Network Authentication or protecting your network from intrusion - select WPA-PSK(Pre-shared key). Access to your virtual network will be possible only after entering the key, which is known to you and your users of your virtual network.

Encryption key PSK: We come up with an encryption key, preferably a 10-digit one, consisting of letters and numbers in random order, so it is more reliable

Now our laptop also has internet. Here are friends and all the settings of our router in the DHCP network protocol.
As for setting up our router in PPPoE mode, you will need to go to the router settings Net->Connections and select the Type of PPPoE connection, then register the username and password, as well as confirm the password. Detailed instructions are available on the D-Link website itself - http://dlink.ru/ru/products/5/728.html

At the beginning of the year, I covered the highlights in detail. At that time, I was using a fairly old router with firmware revision B1 (orange administrative control panel).

Now the same routers are on sale, but with a much more recent firmware - B5. I have already described the main advantages in the previous article, so I will not "pour water". Compared to revision B1, these devices have a control panel with Russian language, simpler and more intuitive. With a price tag of $ 30, the Dir 300 has become a super hit for home and small offices.

In the office of the company where I work, the same router serves 9 computers with DHCP enabled via Kerio (the so-called Relay).

Setting up the Internet on Dlink DIR 300 NRU B5

The most popular Internet connection in Ukraine is a virtual private network, or VPN. It is carried out by one of two protocols - PPTP or L2TP. After connecting the router to your PC, you need to make sure that the network card gets an IP address automatically. More often than not, people forget to update the settings and accordingly cannot enter the router's control panel.

You can change the network connection settings like this:

  • Windows XP: Control Panel - Network and Connections ... -Network Connections - Select adapter properties
  • Windows 7: Control Panel - Network and Internet - Network Control Center - Change adapter settings

Screenshot for XP:

After receiving the address, open your browser and enter in the address bar: 192.168.0.1, and then login and password: admin.

The first point that interests us is Network / Connections. Go to it and click the "Add" button.

I list the settings that need to be made when creating a new connection:

  • Any name;
  • Connection type - L2TP for Kyivstar;
  • Check the box "Allow";
  • Service name - link to the server, for example tp.kyivstar.net;
  • Login and password - issued by the provider, must be specified in the contract;
  • For a permanent connection, check the box Keep Alive;
  • Save the settings and reboot the router.

If you cannot enter the router panel or you have forgotten the password for it- find the recessed Reset button on the case and hold it down with a match for 30-50 seconds to reset the router to factory settings.

Setting up Wi Fi on Dlink DIR 300 NRU B5

Usually, users install routers after purchasing tablets or laptops, so after setting up the Internet, you need to turn on Wi Fi. Service Wi Fi at DIR 300 NRU disabled by default.

To enable it - you need to go to the "Wi Fi / General" tab and check the box next to "Enable wireless connection":

Then you need to configure the wireless connection and set a password for it. These parameters are set in the items "Wi Fi / Basic settings" and "/ Security settings". In the first, you need to specify the name of the network, it is also the SSID:

In the next paragraph, you need to set the type of encryption and password for the Wi Fi network, and then save the settings and reboot the router again:

I prefer to use the following authentication type and encryption type - WPA-PSK / WPA2-PSK mixed and TKIP + AES encryption type.

Sometimes such a bundle can prevent some devices from connecting to the Internet, including those with the Windows operating system. In this case, you can use one of the authentication methods:

  • WEPAuto (weakest)
  • WPA-PSK
  • WPA2-PSK

After the reboot, if everything is done correctly, your local network, Internet and Wi Fi will work correctly.

1. Sometimes devices do not connect to IPTV via Wi Fi, check if the IGMP service is enabled in the “Additional” menu item of the same name.

2. For increased security, do not use the standard router address. Change it, for example, to 87.85.50.100. This can be done in the "Network / Connections" item. Select the LAN connection and change the address in "IP Settings".

3. If you have an anti-virus with a firewall installed, you can disable the firewall of the router when configuring the WAN connection.

4. If you are having problems. Don't be in a hurry to blame the router - set up your network correctly.

Dlink DIR 300 NRU B5 firmware

The procedure for flashing devices of this series has been greatly simplified and you only need to choose the right file for updating.

There is an official firmware for the router revision B5:

  • Number 1.2.94 for 14.04.2011

Before flashing, be sure to check your device revision. Also, remember that you will lose your warranty after flashing.
