What is "Turbo" mode in modern browsers: Chrome, Yandex, Opera. Automatic activation and deactivation of Turbo mode

Turbo is a traffic saving mode that turns on when a slow Internet connection is in the browser. Thanks to Turbo mode, you can quickly load pages via USB modems or in places with public wifi and save money, which is especially important in roaming or when your tariff limit is almost exhausted.

In Turbo mode, the content of the page, including video, is sent to Yandex servers, where it is compressed and then transferred to the browser on the user's computer.

Limitation. In Turbo mode, only data from web pages that you open in a browser are sent to Yandex servers. Personal data entered during electronic payments and in authorization forms do not reach Yandex servers, since Turbo mode is not applied to pages protected by the HTTPS protocol.

When Turbo mode is enabled, the Turbo icon appears on the right side of the Smart bar.

Automatic activation and deactivation of Turbo mode

There are two thresholds for enabling and disabling Turbo:

  • Turbo mode turns on when the connection speed drops below 128 Kbps, and remains on until the growing speed exceeds 512 Kbps.
  • When the connection speed is higher than 512 Kbps, Turbo mode is automatically disabled (and the icon in Smart line disappears). Turbo mode will remain disabled until the speed drops below 128 Kbps.

Limitation. The speed thresholds at which Turbo turns on and off cannot be adjusted.

Unloaded page elements

Compress video

When Turbo mode is enabled, Yandex Browser compresses video by default, which saves up to 70% of traffic, but reduces image quality. To view without loss of quality, turn off video compression:

How do I disable or enable Turbo mode manually?

If you are not satisfied with the automatic (when changing the connection speed) turning on / off Turbo mode, you can turn it on or off forcibly. After that, the mode will be turned on or off until the browser is restarted. To keep Turbo mode on or off after restarting the browser, make changes to the settings.

  • Enable Turbo
  • Turn off Turbo

Mode settings

In the settings, you can forcibly enable or disable Turbo mode (thereby canceling it automatic start). You can also turn off video compression and speed change notifications. Everything preset settings persist even after restarting the browser.

Where, in particular, it was mentioned about the work of anonymizing services. Today, when many Internet sites are blocked for Crimean users, when the largest Russian is forever blocked throughout Russia torrent tracker Rutracker, the issue of access to blocked sites is especially relevant for many. Therefore, in this article we will continue the previously mentioned topic, how to get to a blocked site, and consider a few more different ways, how to do it. Fortunately, the fact of using methods and tools to bypass the blocking is not yet a violation of the legislation of the Russian Federation.

1. Turbo Mode from Opera Software

Users Opera and Yandex Browser to access blocked sites, they can use the standard tool of these two browsers - Turbo mode... Turbo Mode is an Internet traffic compression technology patented by the Norwegian company Opera Software, which was introduced back in version 10 old opera on the Presto engine. Turbo mode was specially designed to work in slow Internet conditions. When Turbo mode is activated, the user's Internet traffic goes through Opera servers Software, where it is compressed - reducing the weight of elements of web pages, lowering the resolution of pictures, lowering the audio bitrate, accelerating buffering streaming video etc. The stage of passing Internet traffic through the Opera Software servers, akin to the work of proxy servers, in fact, allows you to bypass the territorial blocking of sites. Of course, if we are not talking about sites blocked in Norway. You can activate / deactivate Turbo mode in the Opera menu by checking / unchecking the function Opera Turbo.

Turbo mode with the permission of Opera Software is built into one more famous browser- Yandex browser. Moreover, this browser is even by default set to automatically turn on Turbo mode in conditions of a slow Internet connection. You can intentionally enable and disable turbo mode in the "Add-ons" section of the browser using the appropriate buttons.

True, there is little use in the Turbo mode as part of Yandex Browser, if you use it to gain access to sites blocked on the territory of Russia. After all, Internet traffic for the purpose of compression will go through Yandex servers, also located in Russia.

2. Access only to Rutreker

If we are talking only about access to RuTracker.Org, which is blocked on the territory of the Russian Federation, and, in fact, there is no need to bypass the blocking of sites, you can use the browser extension “Access to Rutracker” specially created to access only this torrent tracker. It provides access only to RuTracker.Org and does not affect any other network activity... Extension "Access to Rutreker" supported by browsers Google chrome, Mozilla firefox, Opera, Yandex Browser, as well as various clones of the first two. At the time of this writing, an extension is being developed for Safari browser... Going to the official site of the "Access to Rutreker" extension, link

http://dostup-rutracker.org/

we can choose the browser you want and use a direct link to go to his page free installation in the store of the selected browser.

The extension itself is a button on the browser toolbar with the primitive task of enabling and disabling access to RuTracker.Org.

3. Browser extension Browsec

Access to any blocked site in a browser will help to implement a simple free extension Browsec... This extension was chosen because of its simplicity, freeness, lightness and versatility. Today Browsec exists for everyone popular browsers- Google Chrome, Mozilla FireFox, their clones that support work with extensions from their stores, as well as separately for Opera. You can get the extension on the official Browsec website, link

https://browsec.com/ru/dashboard/main

where the browser used is detected automatically, and the "Install extension" button will lead to desired page in that browser's store.

How does Browsec work? After installation, the extension will place its button on the browser toolbar, with which you can enable / disable Internet access through a proxy server. In Chromium browsers (Google Chrome, Opera, Yandex Browser, Vivaldi, other chrome clones) the Browsec button will contain small list from four countries to obtain their IP-address for those rare cases when a proxy server may be in the same country with a geographically blocked site.

But for Mozilla FireFox and its clones, there is no possibility of choosing a country for accessing the Internet. The Browsec button simply enables and disables Internet access through the proxy server. For cases of work with significantly limited accounts Windows where installation is impossible third party browsers, the creators of Browsec posted on the official website portable version Mozilla FireFox with an already built-in extension.

4. Extension for browsers friGate

Partly similar to the previous extension, another extension friGate is also universal and is intended for Google browsers Chrome, Mozilla FireFox, their clones and Opera. This extension can also be installed on its official website via a direct link

https://fri-gate.org/ru/

leading to the friGate page in the store of the selected browser.

And just like the previous Browsec, the friGate extension is free, lightweight, does not slow down the work with sites when accessing through a proxy server. However, unlike the previous Browsec, friGate independently, operating on its own list of web resources, determines the availability of this or that site, and when it is not blocked, even if the extension is active, access to such a site will be carried out directly. When the site is blocked, the active extension will automatically provide access to it using its own proxy servers. FriGate is enabled using the button on the browser toolbar.

For Chromium browsers friGate in a small widget appearing in the right upper corner windows, offers a slightly larger list of countries for changing the IP address than the previous one Browsec extension... But countries cannot be chosen from a handy list of labels neatly arranged alphabetically. If it becomes necessary to access the Internet from an IP address specific country, it will need to be "clicked" by clicking on the flag of the current country. Naturally, provided that the required country was initially provided for by the expansion.

The friGate extension works only with those sites that were initially included in its list for automatic IP spoofing when the friGate button is enabled. But this list can be supplemented by each user for himself, independently entering the addresses of the necessary sites. To do this, in Chromium browsers, you need to call on the friGate button context menu and click "Options". In the extension settings section, select "Site List Settings", set the name own list, press the button "Add list".

In the form field, enter the site address, set either the "proxy always enabled" mode for it, or select the analytical algorithm, then click the "Add site" button.

WITH Mozilla browser FireFox is a bit simpler. By clicking the friGate button on the toolbar, in one drop-down menu, we will get access to all the extension options. Here, in the friGate menu, you can change the current country of access to the Internet to another one from the available ones.

5. Tor browser

Tor Browser- this is too serious a tool to be used only for visiting one or another blocked site from time to time. For such purposes, anonymizing services and the above methods of bypassing blocking sites are more suitable. The Tor browser is mostly a tool for browsing the Internet anonymously and transferring data securely. Tor is whole system from proxy servers around the world, which randomly form a chain of encrypting and sending user data. Due to the most reliable encryption and data redirection scheme, the Tor browser works quite slowly, although in the latest versions the creators of the project tried to speed up its work. It is advisable to use the Tor browser as a means to access blocked sites in addition to its main application - anonymous web surfing.

The Tor browser is a gecko, i.e., built on the Gecko engine - the Mozilla FireFox engine. From last Tor distinguish, in fact, the superstructure Tor systems and preset settings for maximum anonymity. You can download the browser on the official website of the Tor project, link

having previously selected the Russian interface language.

Tor only works in a portable version. After unpacking the files into the specified folder, we will see a preliminary window that starts the process of connecting to the Tor network. In most cases, what you need to do is click the "Connect" button.

Once launched, the Tor browser will be ready for anonymous web surfing. Checkout link is available on his home page current settings the Tor network.

The new window will indicate throughput the current proxy server, its time continuous work, the country.

Back on home page browser and pressing the Tor button, we will see the entire current chain of proxy servers that will participate in data transfer within this session. To change the country of access to the Internet, and with it the chain of proxy servers for sending data, by clicking the Tor button, you must select the "New identity" item.

The countries of access to the Internet, chains of proxy servers - the user receives all this automatically in a random order. As befits a browser for anonymous web surfing, Tor does not keep a log of visits, does not store cache, cookies, logins and passwords, and does not remember the session.

6. Epic Privacy Browser

Epic Privacy Browser Is another browser designed for anonymous web surfing and for nothing else. It, like the Tor browser, does not store history, cache, cookies, logins and passwords, does not remember the session. Epic Privacy Browser is a Chromium browser that has removed the mechanisms for obtaining user data and their actions. The default browser redirects user requests through its proxy server. But for greater security, you can build a data sending chain using two proxy servers, using another additional node. The second proxy server is manually enabled using the button at the end address bar browser. This proxy server is geographically located in the United States, and, accordingly, it can also be used to access any sites blocked in other countries of the world.

Epic Privacy Browser can be downloaded for free from its official website https://epicbrowser.com

7. Proxy Switcher program

Windows desktop programs for changing IP-address - old way access to blocked sites. However, many people still use it now, probably not knowing about the possibility of installing extensions in browsers. Like the latter, desktop programs for changing IP in most cases in free editions do not carry more functionality than replacing a real IP with a false one. And if the choice of a country for accessing the Internet is provided for, then this, as a rule, is either a limited list of countries, as is the case with browser extensions, or even an opportunity that is available only in paid editions. Among such programs - Real Hide IP, Auto Hide IP, Hide ip easy and their numerous counterparts. However, you don't need more to access blocked sites in Russia, because at least the mentioned programs work with proxy servers located in the USA, Canada and Europe.

But if the question is about access to a site open only to the user audience of a specific country, here the possibility of choosing the IP address of this very country would be very useful. From the mass of programs for changing the IP address Proxy Switcher compares favorably with the ability to select the country of the proxy server and the unlimited breadth of the list of available countries. True, the breadth of scope of the Proxy Switcher comes at a price. While many browser extensions and desktop programs work with their own proxy servers, guaranteeing the user their operability, Proxy Switcher uses public free proxy servers Worldwide. At the same time, their scanning and testing for performance is the responsibility of the user. It sounds very serious, but do not be afraid, in fact, everything is quite simple.

Proxy Switcher even in the basic Standard edition - paid program but it has a fully functional 15-day trial version. It can be downloaded from the official website Proxy Switcher, link

http://www.proxyswitcher.com

Like many programs for changing IP, Proxy Switcher in official version does not have a Russian-language interface.

In the end standard process Proxy installations Switcher remove all unnecessary checkboxes, except for the last one that launches the program. If you are using Mozilla FireFox, you must also check the penultimate checkbox to view instructions for setting up this browser to work with the program. For Chromium browsers, Internet Explorer and Microsoft Edge you do not need to view anything.

Directly in the program window, switch to the folder in the tree structure on the left "New" and with the button that is indicated in the screenshot, we start the process of scanning (detecting) proxy servers all over the world.

There is no need to wait for the scan to complete to use the ability to select almost any country for Internet access. In a few seconds, we can build a list of detected proxy servers by country in alphabetical order... This will allow you to find the required country and use its spelling (as it appears in the Proxy Switcher database) for filtering during scanning.

Stop scanning all proxy servers in a row with the cross button, as shown in the screenshot, and enter the name in the filter field in the upper right corner of the program window desired country... Next, we start scanning again, as we did on initial stage, but in the scan results we will observe proxy servers only for this particular country.

Without waiting for the scan to complete (if an impressive number of proxy servers have already been found), select all found proxy servers with a standard combination Windows keys Ctrl + A, and then press the test button as shown in the screenshot.

During testing, non-working proxy servers will be eliminated, and workers will be moved to the "Basic Anonymity" folder. There is no need to wait for the completion of testing, it will take place in background... We can switch to the folder in the tree structure on the left "Basic Anonymity" and connect to working proxy servers. Connection is made double click by the selected proxy server. In the same way, double-clicking reconnects to other proxy servers from the list and disconnects from the current one. You can also use the connect and disconnect buttons on the panel Proxy tools Switcher. To avoid connecting to a slow proxy server, building the list according to the criterion "Response" - the speed of the proxy server's response - and choosing the one with the lowest indicator will help.

Hello everyone, every day, different states restrict access to the sites that we are used to using. The government claims that it protects us from something, but it is not easier for us from this. Today I will tell you about everything known on this moment ways to bypass site blocking.

Changing DNS servers

The easiest way to get around most blocking is to change the DNS servers. Providers most often block various sites at the level DNS servers... DNS servers translate the IP address of the site into the URL with which the site is opened. If you block the IP address of a site at the DNS server level, then the IP will not turn into a URL (site address) and thus access will be limited.

But it is very easy to bypass this blocking, in network settings you need to use public DNS servers. Let's go, control panel - network control center - change adapter parameters - choose your network connection - right click, properties - find Ipv4 in the list - click properties - put a period, use following addresses DNS - enter DNSs 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 (you can also enter any other public DNS servers). Next, you need to clear the DNS cache on your computer. This can be done, for example, through (check the box DNS cache and carry out cleaning) or after command line on behalf of the admin:

  • ipconfig / flushdns and press Enter.
  • ipconfig / registerdns and press Enter.
  • ipconfig / release and press Enter.
  • ipconfig / renew and press Enter.

If you have a router, then it is advisable to make these settings on the router itself, do all the settings of the router very carefully... In the address bar of your browser, write 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 and press Enter. Enter your username and password to access the router. Next, find the settings section WAN connections and manually enter the DNS servers there - 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 On different routers, this can be done in different ways, and if you doubt it is better not to go there.

I want to note that not all providers will have such a focus, some providers do not allow changing the DNS server. But there is another way out for this.

Unblock access to the site through the HOSTS file

If the provider does not allow changing the DNS server, then you can easily change hosts file on the own computer... I showed how to do this in my very old video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KxrWGhXyNHA... In order to unblock a site, you need to know its IP address, this service will help us with this. Just go to the service and enter the address of the site you need, so you will find out the IP. Next, you need to edit your hosts file and insert a line with the correspondence between the IP of the site and the site address, it will look like this:

Thus, the computer will not connect to any third party DNS servers, but will take information from your host file... This can be said to be your personal DNS server. And since blocking sites most often takes place at the level of DNS servers, then you yourself will adjust these parameters and get access to any sites you need!

But it happens that providers block full access to sites and changing DNS, and the host file does not help. Then there are other options for bypassing site blocking.

Using browsers with turbo mode or built-in VPN

There are many browsers that can be used for this, but I'll only cover two: Opera and. In the Opera browser, you can use turbo mode, turn on in the settings or use the built-in browser VPN service... You can enable it like this:

  • Open the opera: // settings / page in the browser address bar
  • Go to the Security section in the left navigation menu
  • Scroll down to the VPN section
  • Check the box Enable VPN

After that, the browser will work in VPN mode and you will be able to access any sites.

In the Yandex browser, you need to activate the turbo mode:

This mode will also get access to blocked sites.

Using browser plugins

You can install plugins in your browser: friGate, ZenMate, Browsec or Data Saver. These plugins work by VPN principle but only for the browser. These plugins can easily open access to blocked sites, this is the most easy way bypass blocking. I'll tell you about VPN below.

Using VPN services

Using the Tor browser

Another good way to bypass the blocking of sites - use a web browser. Tor browser creates anonymous network which encrypts all transmitted data, including from the provider, also uses servers different countries to connect to the internet. To ensure user privacy, multi-layer encryption and routing of your network traffic over a distributed network.

This technology prevents an outside observer of your Internet connection from finding out which websites you are visiting, prevents websites from knowing your physical location, and also allows you to access blocked web resources.

But Tor has a disadvantage that low speed connections. The browser can be used absolutely free of charge and without restrictions. I talked about him in more detail.

I will tell you more about bypassing site blocking in my video:

Anonymizers

To go to any sites you can use special services anonymizers, they change Url the site you need, so you can access any site. The best and known to me anonymizers are: Chameleon and noblockme.ru, you can google the rest yourself. Just go to the anonymizer site and write the site you need in the line, it will open in anonymous mode.

I hope it helps you to bypass site blocking using one of the methods described above. if you know any other methods, write them in the comments and I will add this method to the article!

and many similar services (search for the word anonymizer)

Software

These methods require installation additional programs or browser extensions, or changing browser settings. On the other hand, they are more reliable and easier to use.

  • JustVPN.AntiBan

  • friGate(compatible with Chrome and Firefox)

  • Browser plugins from HideMyAss (Chrome and Firefox browsers are supported)

    2. Turbo modes in browsers

    Opera Turbo.
Download Opera browser. Click on Opera button Turbo and watch what you want.

In this mode, the browser works like a proxy: the requested data is transmitted through the Opera's proxy server compressing traffic, and then transmitted to the user. As a pleasant effect - an increase in the speed of loading sites in this mode.
This technology is implemented in the Opera and Opera Mobile browsers, starting from their 10th version, as well as in any browser created using the Opera Devices SDK.

    Turbo mode in Yandex Browser
According to the above principle, a similar function works in the domestic browser. Use for health!
    .

This is some kind of tunnel that allows you using certain settings or software, to receive Internet connections from servers of your choice, including those located outside our country. Thus, the server to which you are connected gives you full access to Internet resources, even if they are blocked in Russia.

Below are the VPN providers that are our partners and who provide wide range services on the stated topic and at the same time focuses attention in his work on confidentiality and protection of the rights of Internet users:

It is a proxy server system that allows you to establish an anonymous network connection.

First of all, you will need to download the latest version of the Tor browser, launch it and start using the capabilities and tools of the onion technology.
It has its own advantages and disadvantages. But as one of the ways to circumvent the prohibitions and censorship on the Internet, it is quite a good tool.
Just do not rely heavily on the fact that in this network you will be completely anonymous. Unfortunately Tor nodes v Lately more and more claims to their insecurity and
    7. Access to blocked resources through online translators

One of undocumented opportunities different online internet services that perform operations at the request of users on their side - this is essentially proxying traffic for such requests.
You can most clearly and effectively see how such a side effect works using online translators such as Yandex.Translation and Google.Translate

It is quite simple to use them as access to blocked resources (translators from both Internet giants are similar in functions): in the left window of the translator you insert a link to the resource you want to visit, and in the right window select the language of the site (Russian) and press the button " translate". You not only get access to specific page blocked site, but you can also surf on this Internet resource.

Open source software created to organize a super-stable anonymous, overlay, encrypted network and is applicable for web surfing, anonymous hosting (creating anonymous sites, forums and chats, file-sharing servers, etc.), exchange systems instant messaging, blogging, and file sharing.

As a check for the availability of an Internet resource from different points Russia and the world you can use the corresponding tool on the portal Ping-Admin.ru. We also advise you to study the material from the Wikibooks:

In one of the previous lessons, I already talked about the turbo option in the Opera browser, which solves this problem, and now the time has come turbo mode for Yandex browser... The principle of its operation is the same as in the previous lesson. The site is first processed on a foreign server, and then presented to the user in the browser in an optimized form.

The site is shown to the user with such a call and information about the blocking does not appear.

Let's see where to enable this mode. We open the browser. Next, in the upper right corner, click on the icon in the video of three stripes and go to the "Settings" item.

Scroll down the page to the settings block called "Turbo". By default, you have the "Turn on automatically on slow connection" option active. Since now usually the Internet speed is high, this option is turned on very rarely, so we need to switch to the "Always on" option for the turbo to work.

On the right side of the address bar, you will see a rocket icon, which will mean that the turbo mode has started working.

Now, when you go to a blocked site, you will see it. Also, to reduce traffic, all banners on the sites will be disabled and in order to show them, it will be enough to click on the "Show content" link.

That's all for me. In the next lessons, we will continue to understand that.

Below you can watch the video version of the lesson.

In this tutorial I will tell you about new service Yandex.Radio.

In this lesson I will tell how to open a blocked site using the Opera browser and its Turbo option. The whole feature of the work Opera Turbo the fact that the page is not transmitted directly, but through foreign servers. On them, it is optimized, processed and returned back to your browser in a different, modified form. In fact, a foreign server comes to the site, and since the site is blocked only for Russian servers, it gets access to it without any problems.

I'll tell you today how to open blocked sites through anonymizers. They are also called web proxies. Anonymizers- special sites that work as proxy servers, allowing you to go through them to sites under the guise of users from other countries. Thus, we hide our real location.

One of the most popular electronic formats at the moment is PDF. It is with the help of it that in most cases text and graphic information such as books, brochures, advertising brochures, price lists, etc. Today I will tell you how you can open this format online if you do not have it installed on your computer. special program to view files with the .pdf extension.
