There is no perfection, and you should not look for it, I have always said and will say that when buying a smartphone or any other thing, it is best to be based on your own emotions - whether you like it or not. I repeat, on emotions, compare specifications possible for hours, but when faced with real device all arguments "for" may disappear. Here's a simple scene for you, my friend went to buy Sony Xperia Z. Do not look, namely buy. He saw it in photographs, asked me how the apparatus was. Read the review. When, already in the store, he took Z in his hand, he refused to buy. He's very big. Here are the processors, here are the cameras.
And therefore, after reading this article, do not rush to draw conclusions. There is no good and bad technology, there is technology with its own characteristics.
Design
As you can see, the hull has been pretty wiped over the past months. Yes, I test covers, maybe the loss of paint is partly due to this fact. On the other hand, the iPhone 4S did not behave like this, I still have a black device in the household, I use it in roaming, so it still looks great. And the iPhone 5 is all shabby, as if years have passed since the purchase. A huge chip on the bottom is the result of a fall on the asphalt, there is still a small dent. But, as you can see, there are no scratches on the display, the front of the device looks good. They say that the paint was changed and in the current parties the ends are not subject to this scourge. By the way, keep in mind that often even new devices in sealed boxes can have defects, for example, unpainted areas on the case, such dots. Sellers paint over them with a marker, the device goes on sale again. I would highly advise when buying a "five" to open the packaging and inspect the smartphone. Anything happens.
Most of the complaints are about the body, I have already seen more than one or two devices with broken displays- and this is not the result of a fall, just out of habit people carried the device in their back pocket, sat down, as a result, a slightly bent case and cracks on the glass. With the iPhone 5, it’s better to change your habits, this is not a reinforced concrete “four” that can withstand a variety of tests. By the way, dear girls, if you are used to carrying your phone in a bag without a case, then keep in mind white iPhone 5 will lose its presentation much faster than the iPhone 4S. An example is in front of my eyes, my girlfriend also does not like covers, but abrasions, scratches and so on quickly appear on soft metal. Of course, all this does not matter ... Only after the purchase, a month has not passed, and there are already too many flaws.

One friend, a neat man, right along with the device bought a film for the display and for back, bumper, it remains to hang a holster on a belt and carry a plastic-clad phone there. It seems to me that the iPhone 5 is beautiful without any additives, it feels like a metal plate in the hand. Carrying all sorts of cases is only spoiling, although sometimes you want something like that. But be aware that the paint may come off.
Curiously, the iPhone 5 white color even without any protection, after a few months of use, it looks much better than black. But as you know white iPhone 5 are addressed primarily to girls, not men.
The oleophobic coating peeled off in about two months, at first the fingerprints on the display were invisible and easily cleaned off, now we need “Second” and a miracle rag. But the display itself is much better here than in the iPhone 4S - in other words, it does not pull back at all.
About the cold and the iPhone 5
Another trouble came out when the cold began. Agree, we never look at the specifications regarding the operating temperature range. Although we all wrote more than once that it is not necessary to leave gadgets in the car in winter - we wrote more than once, but this did not stop me from leaving a mark in the armrest, the battery froze there, I just could not leave. With the iPhone 5 it’s even more fun, more than once or twice I’ve come across the fact that a charged device suddenly turns off, as a rule, when it’s cold outside, minus twenty, although yesterday it was minus ten. The following happens: first, a shutdown, then an icon, as if the battery is discharged to zero and the smartphone asks to connect it to charger. After connecting, a few minutes pass, the device turns on, the indicator is completely normal performance, yesterday so generally eighty percent. What the bug is connected with is not entirely clear, probably with moving to a cold environment - it lies on the seat in the car, connected to the audio system, the seat is cold. As you can see, sub-zero temperatures are generally not held in high esteem here, it would be interesting to see how the iPhone 5 would behave where it is really cold.
Accessories
Despite my profession, I myself rarely wear cases or wireless headsets. On the this moment the set is very simple. There is a Griffin charger for the Lightning connector in the car, it fits into the cigarette lighter rather tightly, sometimes it is difficult to pull it out. But there is a luminous ring on the plug, the twisted cable does not take up much space, I can only advise everyone once again. It is hardly worth buying nameless crafts, there are a lot of marriages, and there may be trouble with the connection.
The second favorite thing is the Bowers & Wilkins P3, a wonderful headset, I took it for a test in iCases.ru, and bought it there after. I use it with my laptop and my phone while traveling. The ear pads have already adapted to my ears, I talked about the sound quality and other things in the review. I promised to make a selection of my favorite headphones and will write such an article in the near future. From compact models I really like Bowers&Wilkins C5 (generally, it's something amazing), Ur beats.
I use Vaja models from time to time, Vespa cases are very good, there will be material about them. Recently I went to Re.store, there are Benjamins models, I like the print on the back. But, as you understand, this is the only advantage for two thousand rubles - a simple plastic lining, there are protrusions on the ends in front so that the screen does not touch the table. By the way, in Re.store the version with a skull costs two thousand dollars, and on the official website it costs twenty dollars, so I recommend ordering there if you like it.
But it's not only that. I tried on such a cover, on top the plastic just leaves, an obvious marriage.
Moreover, we looked at several samples with a consultant, everywhere there is one misfortune. We got such a cover, here the plastic comes off in the right corner, the device is not normally inserted.
The upper right corner of the cover in the photo departs a little, you have to constantly insert it into place. In general, when buying any cases, it is better to try them on before giving money away.
If we talk about some additional things that I use from time to time, these are Jawbone Big Jambox and Jawbone Era, Nike + FuelBand, although the last device is truly universal, you can safely take it for use even with the iPhone, even with samsung galaxy S3.

Memory
This device has a memory of 16 GB, and I realized for myself that it always makes sense to buy smartphones with at least 64 GB - I take a lot of pictures, put a lot of programs, listen to a lot of music, and I already have to think about what to sacrifice. Actually, already in the first month I scored memory to the eyeballs. Therefore, if you buy an iPhone 5 only for calls or SMS, then 16 GB is enough.
Camera
Or rather, the problem with the camera. I already talked about this, but it’s not a sin to repeat it, especially since many owners of the iPhone 5 have trouble. If you start the camera and shoot something against a light background, then some spots are clearly visible. In the screenshot, they are clearly visible, there are three spots in the left corner, one on the right, one slightly higher and to the left (just a shadow below). These very spots are not a consequence of the fact that the lens is contaminated with something, by no means, they are always in their places - when they appeared, I can’t say for sure. There are no flaws in the photos in the October review. Accordingly, there can be only one conclusion. Most likely, these are dust particles that somehow got inside the case and settled between the lenses. Or something else, a fact, but this trouble is in any case inside the device. I never got to the service and did not disassemble the smartphone.
Naturally, when processed in Instagram, the artifacts disappear, but on regular photos spots spoil the sky, people's faces, landscapes and things.
If you do not take into account this annoying moment, then the iPhone 5 is still capable of taking photos and videos. best quality than most modern smartphones. Some models with Android are especially amazing, there are a lot of different settings, you can spend hours experimenting, but in fact a quick shot on the “five” will be more interesting in terms of sharpness, brightness, and how naturally the picture is transmitted. We are used to. A very bad habit, and it would be bad if Apple does not optimize this business in the iPhone 5S. In a good way, you can reduce the brightness and turn off everything unnecessary, but you yourself know that it’s too lazy to do this.
For a long time there were no applications crashing, but recently WhatsApp began to misbehave, you try to start it, it does not load, I had to reinstall it. This is universal way for a wide variety of applications. Sometimes there are three or four updates a week for everyone installed programs, sometimes more, just have time to update. Another habit - and not a very good habit.
I noticed a strange glitch, sometimes the backlight itself is removed almost completely, you need to turn off and on the display, then everything comes back to normal. The proximity sensor works fine, the buttons are not stuck anywhere. There is a lot of dust in Lightning and dynamics, if you wish, you can do cleaning - I personally have no desire.

The iPhone 5 is still the perfect device, and I never found a replacement for myself, although I constantly try to try. Like many others iPhone owners, I just get bored from time to time, and you start looking for something else for yourself, a replacement. I thought about BB Z10, but after the experiments, Eldara realized that I didn’t want to spend money on “raw” at all.
And after the announcement of SGS4, I will not switch to this device, and Note cannot be used daily. By the way, this device (Note) has been in my box for a month without work and does not turn on anymore. Apparently, it is necessary to change the battery or the entire smartphone.
It's not just about the smartphone, it's about the infrastructure. I use iMessage on my laptop, smartphone, and tablet, Photo Stream, paid iTunes Match, the most convenient thing, everything that should be stored is stored in iCloud - remove the brick from here under iPhone name 5 and the system will work less efficiently.
In general, I no longer make any plans, I just know that with the iPhone 5 I will have to go until the next model is presented. Probably iPhone 5S, with more productive processor, fixed jambs, the camera will be better there, and if a version with 128 GB of memory appears, it will be a fairy tale.

That's why I love Apple, for the service.
If you bought an iPhone 5, officially made for Russia, directly in Russia, then you will have to deal with our excellent service! And I don’t know if they will change a smartphone with a shabby case and a camera with dust particles in about ten minutes. It's a completely different story, but I don't want to think about it at all.

By the way, all these new SIM cards and new connectors do not really care about the really Apple people. The new nano-SIM, they say, calls better. And through the Lightning connector, songs are poured clearly faster. So they will accept the round SIM card and the return to the old connector in the sixth iPhone with all their hearts. On a round SIM card, they will say, SMS is sent better. And the old connector is vintage and a return to Uncle Jobs' roots. It is clear that the iPhone bicycle has long been invented, so one should not expect anything fundamentally new in design. Almost nothing has changed in the front part, except for changing the proportions and moving the front camera a little higher. 
And here back cover- completely different. Now instead of glass there is again aluminum, this time painted. The glossy glass surface is preserved only on the top and bottom inserts.
Since the device is completely black, the aluminum ends were also painted with black paint and did it completely in vain: the entire Internet is full of cries that this paint simply slides off when it comes into contact with some objects and the iPhone quickly takes on a homeless look. Well, here it should be noted that the smartphone has become noticeably thinner: 7.6 mm versus 9.3 for the iPhone 4S. New iPod Touch has a thickness of 6.1 mm - it is very thin. Special plastic inserts were made at the ends to get rid of the well-known "try not to hold it this way" effect, in which the signal level cellular communication fell noticeably if certain areas were pinched from the ends of the phone with fingers. There are no changes with the control keys - everything is as it was. On the left side there is a mute button, volume buttons. 
At the bottom end there is a headphone output (it used to be at the top, and it is much more convenient), a connector output, speakers.

Well, it should be noted that the phone has become noticeably lighter - only 112 grams compared to 137 grams of the iPhone 4. That is, it has become almost 20% lighter. By the way, laughter is laughter, and the new connector, of course, is much more convenient than the old one. Firstly, it is quite small - similar in size to microUSB. And secondly, it no longer has parts protruding from the connector, which create a certain hemorrhoids when using any covers, cradles, docking stations, and so on.

Well, the new connector can already be inserted into the smartphone by any side, and not a certain one, as it was in the old plug. Display Apple's display breakthrough came with the fourth iPhone, which has this gorgeous Retina display. What could be expected from the fifth? Never mind. Nothing cooler than Retina has yet been invented, and increasing the display resolution - in general, there is no point. True, people expected that Apple, following the newfangled trends, would noticeably increase the display, but they only met the expectations by increasing the display exclusively vertically, thus changing the format from 3:2 to the more popular 16:9. It is, of course, better than if the display did not increase at all (but then it would be completely incomprehensible why to release new model), but worse than if it increased more radically. However, I express only my own opinion. On the enlarged display, not all programs are displayed adequately. System Applications this resolution is already calculated, and many other applications are displayed in the old format - with black stripes from top to bottom. For example.
But there is also a significant innovation. The sensor layer is now applied to the matrix, that is, the extra glass plate, on which the sensor layer was previously applied, has been removed. Because of this, there is less glare, and the image also looks better: it seems to be applied to the surface of the glass. Device operation The desktop of a loaded iPhone looks quite traditional. However, due to the increase in the height of the display, an extra line with icons appeared here. Well, what can I say? An extra line - it is never superfluous, I apologize for the tautological tautology.

For Moscow, however, such charms cannot yet be obtained (however, even in google maps too). Also, these maps have good navigation: I would not say that it is inferior to similar navigation from Google or Yandex.

I, unfortunately, had very little time to test the camera. Apple claims that it has become better at shooting in poor lighting conditions - I honestly did not notice this. In poor lighting, as usual, the picture is very noisy, well, and often there is not enough shutter speed to take it off hand without "stirring". Nevertheless, it shoots very decently for a smartphone, rarely misses with autofocus (especially if you don’t fuss), the white balance is very good. Here are some shots with almost no selection and no processing. Shooting at home was done in very poor natural light, on the street it was filmed in the evening in bad weather.

iTunes Store As you know, quite recently a real miracle happened: now not only programs and podcasts are available for Russia in the iTunes Store, but also almost the entire range of multimedia, except for books: movies, music, and so on. And this is really good: it is very convenient to purchase any media content through the iTunes Store. In addition, for example, for movies, you can choose the desired resolution (regular resolution costs three times cheaper than FullHD), as well as rent a movie. This is what it looks like in iTunes on the computer.
And, of course, you can purchase all sorts of media files from the iTunes Store directly through your phone.

Here, of course, Apple is very much ahead of the same Android smartphones, for which there is no similar store with such a cool service and a huge amount of media files offered. Music and headphones
Many journalists doing iPhone review 5 are enthusiastic about the new EarPods. 
What can I tell you about this? They do it right that they fit in: the headphones really turned out just awesome, I will definitely buy them for myself for use with android smartphones. EarPods have a very unusual shape: it turned out to be something between inserts and plugs. 
But the form is the form, but what about the sound quality? So, I don't know how they achieved this, but the sound quality for this type of headphones is simply amazing. I compared it with all sorts of branded in-ear headphones of about the same price category (EarPods in the States cost $ 30) - these headphones have much better sound quality: excellent volume, very clear high frequencies and absolutely wonderful bass for this format. If you also consider that these headphones are simply included in the smartphone package, you can take your hat off to Apple here: none of the manufacturers equips smartphones with headphones of this quality. The headphones are equipped with a control panel that has a built-in microphone, so this is also a headset. Listening to music on iOS is traditionally cool and convenient, so listening to music on an iPhone is a great pleasure.
Purely practical sensations are excellent: applications just fly, scrolling and other movements on the screen are incredibly smooth. Android before, of course, still swim and swim - in this operating system movements are much more angular.
