Asus whose company is the manufacturer. Asus is smart technology with an impeccable reputation

Probably, there is almost no such person who has never heard the name of the Asus company. This brand produces a lot of all kinds of products, such as smartphones, laptops, routers, modems, monitors, motherboards and much, much more. However, few people know about the history of this huge corporation and how it all began. Well, we need to fix this. Further in the article we will talk about how the brand was born, in what year it appeared, which manufacturing country Asus belongs to, and we will go through some of the company's products.

Story

The company dates back to 1989. At that time, the computer industry was at the very center of development, and new companies appeared in the world almost every day that sought to take their place under the sun. "Asus" was formed in the Chinese Republic of Taipei, or, as it is also called, Taiwan. Despite the fact that the Republic of China, Taiwan is an independent state recognized throughout the world. But now is not about that.

At that time, everything that was produced from under the wing of the Celestial Empire was regarded very skeptically, and Chinese products did not enjoy much success. Nevertheless, in 1989, on April 1, 4 young people from the well-known company Acer decided to found their own corporation in one of the apartments. And they called it Asus, or to be more precise, Asustek Computer Inc. "Asus" is a part of the word from PegASUS, which means "Pegasus - a horse with wings".

The main goal of the company at that time was to consult third-party manufacturers in Taiwan on the production of motherboards for computers. Unfortunately, the idea failed, and no one even wanted to listen to the guys. All local firms were quite pleased with the fact that they were fulfilling orders from other more well-known manufacturers. Then, in the same year, the founders decided to take a rather bold step - to release their motherboard for the newly made Intel 80486 processor at that time. It was this step that led the future computer giant to success.

The motherboard was created only on the basis of the available information about the processor and based on personal knowledge and experience. It didn't take long for everything, and in the same 1989 the finished board was sent to the Intel technical laboratory.

Experts highly appreciated the finished work and recognized Asus as masters of their craft. From that very moment, close cooperation between the two companies began, which allowed Asus to gain not only world recognition, but also to turn from an ordinary company into a huge corporation.

Country of origin Asus

As already mentioned at the very beginning, the country in which the company's products are manufactured is Taiwan. Actually, this is where the history of the corporation began. And although on the packaging or some stickers on the products, the manufacturing country of Asus is indicated as China, that is, Made in China, it is here that all the main production centers are concentrated.

In addition, Asus works very closely with third-party manufacturers who also release their product. These partners include Foxconn, Quanta Computer, Pegatron. And although the products come from under the wing of a third-party production, whose factories are located in a slightly different location, the country of origin of Asus is still Taiwan, and China will be indicated on the packaging.

It is also rumored that the company has several factories in Mexico and the Czech Republic. But, at least, there was not yet a single motherboard, not a monitor or a smartphone, on the packaging of which Mexico or the Czech Republic would appear as the manufacturing country of Asus.

Products

Asus products have a very extensive range. Laptops, smartphones, motherboards, video cards, tablets, monitors, network equipment, peripherals and much more are produced under this brand. The list is extensive, and you can list it for a long time. The most popular, of course, are motherboards, laptops, especially the ROG gaming series, video cards and more recently smartphones.

Smartphones of the company

Asus has a separate line of smartphones called ZenPhone. There are quite a few models here, and all of them are very competently located in different price categories, which allows the user to choose the option that suits him best. Buying an Asus phone, a person gets a high-quality and well-made device that provides maximum functionality and ease of use.

Laptops

Laptops that come out from under the wing of Asustek Computer Inc are always in high demand among consumers. This is about the same principle as smartphones. There are budget models, there are mid-range ones and, of course, expensive options. ROG (Republic Of Gamers) notebooks stand apart. These models cost a lot of money, but the buyer gets the filling corresponding to the price.

Typically, ROG laptops are made of very high quality materials and top-end hardware, such as Intel's Core i7 processors and Nvidia's GTX 1050-1070 graphics card. Such a combination even for a desktop computer will cost a pretty penny, but here we offer a compact and stylish laptop that you can take with you anywhere and use it for all sorts of tasks.

Motherboards and video cards

Motherboards and video cards are especially popular with Asus. The main distinguishing feature of these products is their excellent workmanship. The highest quality components are used for them, including capacitors, transistors, thermistors, microcircuits, etc.

Both motherboards and video cards from Asus have repeatedly won awards at various exhibitions, and also set various world records. You can read about all this separately.

Other products

In addition to Asus phones and computer equipment, the company is also engaged in the production of monitors, peripherals, network devices, game manipulators, etc. Of course, in some moments Asus still has a lot to master, but even these products are in great demand. Monitors from the company give out a gorgeous picture and have excellent color rendering. Keyboards and mice also provide a comfortable experience. There is nothing to say about gaming peripherals, since they are of excellent quality and are considered one of the best in the world.

Be that as it may, "Asus" can be loved, one can be indifferent, but one cannot deny its enormous contribution to the development of computer technologies, IT-sphere and equipment. What can you wish for a company? Huge success, even more quality products and slightly lower prices.

Asus is a computer hardware brand owned by the Taiwanese company ASUSTeK Computer Inc. The assortment is wide. Price segments - from bottom to top. The technique is made in China, the quality is good. It is sold in almost all countries of the world, including Russia, Ukraine. Asus technology is very popular in Russia. Found, probably, in every computer hardware and electronics store.

Story

The company was founded in 1990 in Taipei, Taiwan. There are four founders: T.H. Tung, M.T. Liao, Ted Hsu, Wayne Hsieh; they are all electronic engineers, and they all previously worked for Acer. The name is derived from Pegasus, the name of a winged horse from Greek myths that was a symbol of inspiration. According to official information from Asus, the name of the company indicates the spirit of creativity, purity and strength. In addition, Asus places particular emphasis on innovation and its role in the company's success. I must say that the company achieved success quickly enough, and by the 2000s it had already gained a good reputation, not only in China, but in the world in general.

In 2003, the company's first cell phone, the J100 model, was released. In 2005, Asus brought its first LCD TV to market, and the following year released one of the world's first Ultrabooks; in 2007 the company announced the Eee PC netbook. But it cannot be called the first netbook: a similar device under the netBook brand (!) Was released by Psion back in the late 1990s. In the same 2007, the company announced its intention to release Blu-ray drives, and a little later, notebooks with Blu-ray drives also went on sale.

In 2008, Business Week ranked Asus as the number one Taiwanese computer hardware brand, valuing the brand at $ 1.3 billion. In addition, the same Business Week has included Asus in the top ten rating of the most successful IT companies for 11 years already - InfoTech 100.

2010 marked the release of the world's thinnest laptop (model U36, 19 mm thick). In 2010-2011, the company made an attempt to enter the reader market with the DR900 and EA800 models, but this attempt ended in failure; the device turned out to be quite mediocre and is now practically not sold anywhere. But the Asus tablets (Eee Pad Transformer series) proved to be more successful.

In 2012, the Asus company, brand and products received over 4,000 awards in total. Currently ASUSTek is the fifth largest manufacturer of personal computers in the world in terms of sales, behind HP, Lenovo, Dell, Acer). Subsidiary ASUSTeK - Pegatron (founded in 2008) - produces electronic components for companies such as HP, Apple, Sony. Another subsidiary company - Unihan - specializes in the production of computer cases and similar components.

ASUSTeK is currently a public company, its shares are listed on the Taiwanese and London stock exchanges. The number of employees exceeds 12,500 people, and the annual city is 12 billion dollars. Company slogan: Inspiring Innovations. Persistent Perfection. Official translation: Spirit of innovation. The path to excellence.

Range

Asus produces a huge number of computers, laptops, components, various devices and batteries. It is worth noting a very wide range of netbooks, laptops, ultrabooks, monitors; There are a lot of tablet computers in the company's assortment, but there are already noticeably fewer communicators. Lots of bags, cases, laptop and netbook backpacks. In general, Asus produces almost everything that has anything to do with computers. Mice, keyboards, webcams, steering wheels, joysticks - whatever.

The design of Asus technology is notable for its rigor and consistency. Cheap models often look rustic; dear ones are usually solid and beautiful. Some are equipped with the original coating of the case (rough, as, for example, in the Seashell series). Primary colors: black and various shades of gray. White devices are also available. There are very few models of bright colors.

Technical characteristics and functionality cannot be called extraordinary, but in the overwhelming majority of cases they are quite decent and are almost always adequate to the price. Components such as motherboards, video cards, etc. I do not consider, since I do not particularly understand them. Therefore, I admit that here Asus, in technical terms, can go, as they say, at the forefront

However, it is worth focusing on the very original design solutions of the company, which are simple, practical and elegant at the same time. First, there are the Eee Pad Transformer tablets with a beautiful detachable keyboard. Secondly, this is Asus PadFone - a communicator that is inserted into the tablet, forming a single whole with it. A really bold decision.

The quality of Asus technology is not bad, but still not perfect. In general, the devices are solid. Build quality is good - with few exceptions; reliability is again at the level. And this is an intermediate result: Asus is a very solid technology with a good price-quality ratio, but it cannot be called “premium”, “exceptional” and so on. What is called a "workhorse", but with a good (and sometimes very beautiful) design. Most Asus devices are universal, suitable for the widest audience of users.

Personal impressions. Reviews

I have come across Asus equipment many times. The Asus monitor has been working for about five years without any interruptions, and in general it is very good: a pleasant austere design, good quality, normal functionality. Many people I know have Asus netbooks and laptops; they make a very good impression: they work quickly, the assembly is of high quality, the design is usually beautiful. As a rule, acquaintances do not complain about reliability, although someone had problems with the keyboard, someone else with something else, but not very significant.

Reviews on the Internet are very different, but mostly positive. Buyers note the following advantages: convenience, practicality, reasonable price, speed of work, quality, good case. Possible disadvantages: certain design flaws, problems and disadvantages typical for some specific models. Of course, there is also marriage. In the case of cheap models - not always a pleasant design, lack of some options, not too fast work. But there's nothing you can do about it: a cheap device definitely cannot be perfect, you have to sacrifice something in the name of the price.

ASUS currently sells more motherboards than any other company. However, this number also includes products that have undergone rebranding.

ASUS also manufactures various components for products from other corporations including Sony (PlayStation 2), Apple Inc. (iPod, iPod Shuffle, MacBook), Alienware, Falcon Northwest, Palm, Inc., HP, and many other hardware manufacturers use ASUS motherboards in their systems (since 2008, all of the above products are manufactured at the Pegatron Corporation manufacturing facilities).

Until 2014, ASUS occupied the third line in the ranking of tablet manufacturers in the Russian market. However, in mid-2014, it ceded it to the dynamically developing Lenovo.

history of the company

The popularity of Asus as a global manufacturer of quality laptops is beyond doubt. However, in comparison with other electronics companies, Asus is still very young, it entered the high-tech computer technology market quite recently - in 1989 on the island of Taiwan. The company was founded in 1989 by four former Acer engineers: TH Tung, Ted Hsu, Wayne Hsieh, MT Liao.

The road to success was not easy, because at that time Taiwanese companies did not have access to the world market.
The original goal of the company was to manufacture chipsets. However, due to a lack of capacity and a special test base, the company was forced to start producing motherboards.
After creating their own motherboard, the company submitted it to the Intel test lab. The quality of the motherboard was evaluated by Intel and signed a long-term contract with Asus. Thus, Asus gained recognition and entry into the global market.
The company decided not to be satisfied with what has already been achieved and expanded the list of its products. Optical drives and video cards were added to the list of manufactured products, and Hewlett-Packard was added to the list of strategic partners.
In today's market community, Asus is known as a 3C class solution provider (computers, communications, consumer electronics). In this case, communications mean the production of ISDL equipment and DSL modems. In this sector of the market, Asus today occupies one of the leading positions in the world. This has been achieved over the years and the hard work of all employees of the Taiwanese company. The so-called consumer electronics include mobile phones, gadgets, Asus laptops.
Over time, the range of products is expanding. Optical drives and video cards with the Asus logo on the case appear. Having concluded a successful contract with the world famous company Hewlett-Packard, the company begins to build servers. In 2001, Asus began to release servers only under its own name. In 2000, the world saw and Asus laptops.
Asus implements its own proprietary technologies into its products:
Asus POST Reporter - the technology was created to inform the user about malfunctions by voice;
Asus EZ Flash is a technology designed for easy BIOS update. The update takes place directly from its menu;
Asus Q-Fan - technology for controlling system cooling using thermal sensors, intelligently adjusting the rotational speed of coolers;
Asus Color Shine - liquid crystal displays with "glass" properties and with an antiglare effect for the clearest picture;
Asus Splendid Video Enhancement - Used when playing video and graphics in games, improving the depth and intensity of colors in real time.

February 4, 2009 - Garmin and ASUS formed an alliance to jointly develop mobile phones focused on LBS services.

In 2010, ASUSTeK Computer is gradually reducing its orders from its subsidiary Pegatron, these plans are in line with the general development trend of the company to reduce Asustek's dependence on Pegatron Technology: in particular, we are talking about motherboards and graphics subsystems, the production of which may be transferred to Elitegroup Computer Systems ( English) (ECS). In the second half of 2010, Asustek will also start placing its orders at factories of Foxconn Electronics (Hon Hai Precision Industry) and Quanta Computer

Since January 1, 2008 ASUSTeK has been producing products only under its own brand. The entire ODM business is wholly transferred to the newly opened subsidiaries: Pegatron Corporation and Unihan Corporation.

ASUSTeK focused on the production of products under its own brand - motherboards, laptops, smartphones, servers and communication equipment, as well as multimedia devices and consumer electronics. Pegatron is engaged in the production of computer cases and other devices, Unihan is created for contract manufacturing of computer components.

In 2010, ASUSTeK Computer is gradually reducing its orders from its subsidiary Pegatron, these plans are in line with the company's overall development trend to reduce Asustek's dependence on Pegatron Technology: in particular, we are talking about motherboards for graphics subsystems, the production of which may be transferred to Elitegroup Computer Systems.

In 2011, ASUS launched a tablet laptop to compete with Apple's iPad. The uniqueness of the ASUS tablet is that the "tablet" of the screen can work both autonomously and together with a standard keyboard, thereby turning the gadget into a familiar laptop.

On December 21, 2016, the Zenbo multifunctional home robot developed and manufactured by the company was unveiled to the public in Taipei. The company announced that sales in Taiwan will begin on January 1, 2017.

ASUS Chairman Johnny Shi (Shi Chungtang) revealed at the event that developers and partners from various industries in Taiwan - including education, transportation, e-commerce, entertainment, and professional cleaning Zenbo applications with special applications and features.

Collaboration with the National Taiwan Police Agency (NPA) has led to the development of an app for Zenbo that allows families to contact the local police station in an emergency and speak to an officer using the built-in video call feature. NPA chief Chen Guoen joined Johnny Shih on stage to showcase the application's capabilities.

The versatility of the Zenbo robot helps ensure the well-being of older family members. Zenbo monitors the home in case of emergencies - such as falls - and responds immediately by notifying the listed close family members via their smartphones.

On November 3, 2017, Asus announced the release of its first smartphone with an 18: 9 display - the Pegasus 4S.

Brand history

Initially, the Taiwanese company was named after the mythological winged horse - "Pegasus". But then the entrepreneurs decided to cut off the first three letters from the name, so that in all directories their company was among the first - on "a". At present, the full name of the company sounds like this: "AsusTeK Computers Incorporated". This is not surprising: how in the modern market world without the "Incorporated" prefix?
There is another version of the appearance of the name of this brand.

In Chinese, ASUS sounds like hua shooo. The first word means "China" or "Chinese", and the second means "big", so the name eventually coined by the founders of the company can be translated as "Greater China". But, one way or another, the company founded by TH Tung, Ted Hsu, Wayne Hsieh and MT Liao has soared as high as Pegasus, has become not just big, but huge and has been ranked first in the rankings of the leaders of the global computer industry for several years.

However, ASUSTek would not have reached its current heights if it were not for the happy acquisition in the person of Chen Shi, or Johnny Shi, as he is better known in the business world. It was with the arrival of this talented manager in the mid-1990s that the most successful stage in the development of the company began.

Johnny Shi is one of the legendary figures in Taiwan. He joined ASUSTek in 1994 as CEO and soon became the company's chairman of the board.
As Shi recalls, the business owners immediately set him a serious task - to stand on a par with the leaders in the sector of manufacturing not only motherboards, but also personal computers. It would seem that in an ultra-competitive market it was difficult to stand out from the crowd by offering consumers an original idea. But Johnny Shea found a solution that, he said, formed the basis for the future philosophy of the company and led ASUSTek to victory.

According to the strategy of the new head of ASUSTek, at first she had to concentrate on two components of the business: advanced technology and high quality products. And then it was planned to add to these components the speed of production and the speed of service. The company even developed its own “winning formula,” which was equal to the marketing price (quality times speed, innovation, and service) divided by cost.

“We realized that you can only get to the top by offering an outstanding product,” says Johnny Shea. - I tried to convey to employees that we can only become the best enterprise in the world if we are able to surpass our own capabilities. I am sure that it is precisely working at the limit of our own capabilities that is the secret of our current success. "

Just three years after Shi came to the leadership, the company's sales grew 12 times, the profit increased by 20.

The Ministry of Economy of Taiwan released a study on November 29, 2016, listing the top 20 most valuable international brands in 2016 from Taiwan in terms of market value. ASUS has been named Taiwan's Most Valuable Brand for the fourth consecutive year.

Two ASUS notebooks were selected for the astronauts by R&K, which is the main supplier of computers and electronics to the MIR orbital station. Both laptops performed flawlessly over the entire 600-day period.

According to Sergei Andreev, a Russian cosmonaut, ASUS laptops never overheated, as happens with laptops operating in difficult temperature conditions. The fact is that heat flows in space and on Earth are different. And only a laptop with the best cooling system can withstand such conditions for a long time.

Another striking story is that ASUS notebooks have also passed the test in the field and at the lowest temperatures. On December 16, 2003, two famous climbers Shi Wang and Jin Lee conquered the highest peak of Antarctica - Vinson Peak, whose height is 4897 m, and the ambient temperature drops to -100 degrees. Fahrenheit (approx 73.3 degrees Celsius). Both climbers carried ASUS S200N laptops, which worked reliably throughout the trip, despite the really extreme weather conditions.

Asus has been included in the InfoTech 100 list of the most successful IT companies published by Business Week for 10 years in a row.

On December 21, 2016, the Zenbo multifunctional home robot developed and manufactured by the company was unveiled to the public in Taipei.

At the press conference, 10 Zenbo robots sang and danced to create a festive New Year atmosphere for the audience, as well as showcasing their diverse functions such as “caring household helper”, “security guard”, “kitchen helper” and “family photographer” ...

Gadget manufacturers

The name of the Asus company comes from the last four letters of the word "Pegasus", that is, the name Pegasus - the winged horse known from Greek myths. Its founders wanted to make the name begin exactly with the first letter of the alphabet. This company is quite young, since it was founded relatively recently.

In 1989, four Chinese residents - computer engineers and former Acer employees named T.H. Tung, Ted Hsu, Wayne Hsi and M.T. Liao - decided to found their own company. In those years, Taiwan had not yet managed to take a leading position in the computer business.

Quite the opposite: those were hard times for the IT industry. At that time, Taiwanese manufacturers could not get access to the world market. That is why the founders of ASUS decided to completely focus on the market of their state.

So, the beginning was made, but connected with certain difficulties. Intel, which supplied the processors, preferred to work with more established firms, and Taiwanese companies could only get a processor six months after companies like IBM had all the necessary engineering samples.

According to legend, ASUS managed to create a prototype motherboard using Intel 486, but in fact they did not have access to the processor. However, the company resolved the problem, as it turned out that the motherboard it developed was capable of working correctly without the need for further modifications.

It is the contract with Intel that will allow ASUS to enter the global market in the future. From the moment of its signing, they could always get the necessary engineering samples bypassing their competitors. However, it was still far from real success.

The company's revenues were gradually growing, and therefore the scope of activities also expanded. After motherboards, video cards and optical data storage devices appear.

In 1994, Johnny Shea became the president of ASUS, and he held this position for quite a long time. By the way, he had nothing to do with Stan Shea, the founder of Acer - it was just a coincidence.

The range of manufactured goods continues to expand. Not only the product line is replenished, but also the number of links. A large corporation Hewlett-Packard becomes a partner of ASUS - exactly that legendary company that once could not appreciate the engineering genius of Steve Jobs.

The first laptop was introduced by ASUS in 2000. This event was almost historical, as the following years became a clear evidence of success. By the way, ASUS is one of the first to introduce its own technologies to borrowing other people's technologies.

For example, the unique developments of the company are the POST Reporter voice information system and the Q-Fan cooling system.

The company adheres to the 3-K strategy, with a particular focus on computers and communications. The case of a regular PC is getting a little cramped, and this is a powerful impetus for the release of new products.

In the fall of 2005, Asus manufactures its first physics accelerator, PhysX.

In the winter of the same year, she enters the LCD TV market with the TLW32001 model. Early next year, ASUS also announced an upcoming collaboration with Lamborghini to develop the VX series.

Overall, 2005 has been very productive. A product concept was developed for those who love games.

In the spring of 2006, the company was approved as one of the manufacturers of the first Microsoft Origami models (together with Founder Technology and). A few months later of the same year, ASUS formed a joint venture with the Taiwanese firm Gigabyte Technology, which produces motherboards and other computer equipment.

In June 2007, ASUS announces the launch of the Eee PC netbook. In the fall of that year, it expresses its support for Blu-ray technology by announcing the BC-1205PT Combo Optical Drive (BD-ROM / DVD-Writer). Its peculiarity was that it could write DVD as well as read Blu-ray at the same time. Subsequently, the company produces several Blu-ray based laptops.

The beginning of 2008 was marked by a major restructuring. The company was split into three independent divisions: the ASUS brand, focused on branded computers and electronics, Pegatron (with a focus on the production of motherboards and their components), and the Unihan Corporation, which was engaged in the production of components for other companies.

In the process of restructuring, the pension plan was harshly criticized (the corresponding balances were reset to zero). The company had to pay all the contributions previously made by its employees. In the same year, ASUS decides to start working with.

Following this, in September, she found herself at the center of an unpleasant scandal. Thus, PC Pro magazine informed its readers that the company accidentally sent a batch of laptops with cracks and pirated software. To top it all off, the devices contained confidential documents of other organizations, as well as highly personal information from ASUS itself, including even a resume.

In response, an ASUS spokesman promised to conduct an investigation at a "high enough level", but did not comment on how the files ended up on the machines.

2008 is also an important year because the company released its first sound card, the Xonar DX. It was able to emulate EAX 5.0 effects through the ASUS GX software, and also supported Open AL and DTS connectivity.

After a while, the Xonar D1 came out. It resembled the Xonar DX in many ways, but it was connected to the motherboard via the PCI interface (instead of PCI-E x1, as on the DX).

In May 2009, Asus released a high-end Essence ST sound card. Next year, it will be replaced by the Xonar DG card, aimed at budget buyers.

2010 was associated with the announcement of a smartphone, which was the result of a collaboration between ASUS and Garmin. During the previous two years, these companies have released six other smart mobile devices.

December 2010 will be remembered for the fact that the company introduces the world's thinnest laptop, ASUS U36. It was powered by a standard (rather than low) voltage Intel processor and was only 19 millimeters thick.

As of December 2011, the notable desktop lineup, Essentio, consisted of the CG Series (for gaming), the CM Series (for entertainment and home use), and the CS and CP Slimline. The Eee Pad Transformer, also known as the TF101, was unveiled at the show that same year.

It was a stylish Android tablet with an add-on keyboard, an ultra-thin body (just 13 millimeters) and weighing just under 700 grams. It also differed from other devices by its original corrugated coating, which made it very comfortable to hold in the hand. The tablet made a real sensation.

It was a multifunctional device with a 2-core processor, durable LCD coating and excellent color reproduction. Built-in speakers with surround sound support ensured high quality sound. An additional QWERTY keyboard was made in the form of a docking station. The Android operating system version 3.2 Honeycomb has been optimized for this class of devices.

Other famous ASUS tablets are two generations of Nexus 7. Their release fell on 2012-2013. In addition, the company has also partnered with Microsoft to help develop tablets running Windows 8. Over the years, the idea of what the perfect tablet should look like has been constantly changing, and ASUS has strived to meet the most demanding needs.

By 2013, due to declining sales, ASUS had officially discontinued its Eee PC series of netbooks. Consumer interests were constantly changing, and now they increasingly preferred ultrabooks and tablets. By this time, ASUS has become the fifth largest personal computer manufacturer in the world. She is also one of the ten leading IT companies according to Business Week.

By November 2013, ASUS sold more motherboards than any other company. The brand's product range also included LCD panels, mobile devices, networking equipment, servers, optical drives, computer hardware and more.

An interesting fact: the notebooks of this company were the first to win the TCO'99 standard certificate. The main criteria for determining the winner were ergonomics, the level of power consumption and radiation, as well as environmental safety.

By the way, ASUS laptops are the top choice for climbers. So, during the conquest of Chomolungma, several models were tested at once, as well as devices from third-party manufacturers. At an altitude of 5 thousand meters, only ASUS gadgets continued to work. All others did not survive the competition, mainly because of the low temperature.

Well, thanks to the efforts of the leader of the expedition named Wang Yongfong, the U5 laptop reached the peaks of Mount Everest and became a real symbol of environmental harmony and environmentally friendly technologies. It's funny, but if you add up the number of motherboards sold by ASUS by 2008, their combined height exceeds Mount Everest by several hundred times. The company's laptops have also traveled to both poles.

The first smartphone from ASUS was the P505 communicator. The Taiwanese manufacturer tried to equip it with the best that it had at its disposal at the time. It ran on Windows Mobile and was powered by an Intel processor with dynamic management functionality.

The battery capacity was small, and yet the smartphone could work for quite a long time in stand-alone mode. The smartphone had a folding numeric keypad, Bluetooth and GPRS support, a removable battery and a standard set of software.

Another notable mobile device was the high-performance and functional ZenFone 5. It was a comfortable and attractive smartphone specially designed for all gamers. By the way, all ZenFone smartphones are equipped with a high-quality GPU.

The work of ASUS today is aimed at responding in time to changing market demands. Nevertheless, until relatively recently, its devices were not available to everyone. A subsidiary company ASRock was created specifically to produce low-cost equipment.

She produced products of a low price segment. This company was founded in 2002 in Taiwan as a competitor to the OEM market companies. In 2010 it was taken over by Pegatron. Within a year, ASRock sold 8 million motherboards, surpassing many of its competitors. As a result, they were ranked as the third largest motherboard company.

Overall, the founding of ASRock was an important milestone and had a very positive impact on ASUS 'business. The fact is that at the beginning of the new millennium its position in the production of motherboards was somewhat shaken by competitors like Foxconn. The emergence of a subsidiary in just a few years has actually made it possible to make up for lost time.

ASUS products always have a level of quality that the buyer has no doubt about. Particular attention is paid to the latest achievements and innovative developments in the field of electronics. One of the main tasks set for the company's specialists is the unswerving pursuit of excellence.

Today, ASUS enjoys special consumer confidence in its homeland, Taiwan, where it is considered the best in terms of product quality. With regard to the number of employees around the world, it has long exceeded 100 thousand people.

For almost twenty-five years, the company has been working for the benefit of its consumers, continuing its path to excellence and winning new fans around the world.

There are many companies on the world market that produce gadgets, computer equipment and household appliances. Among them there are those that began their history in the 30s and 40s of the last century. These are already entire concerns, which, in addition to production, have many subsidiaries. But there are companies that appeared at the end of the last century, and now have become leaders in their field. One of these is the Asus company, whose country of origin is Taiwan.

Start

Of course, the firm doesn't have as long a history as its peers HP, Aser, Sony and Lenovo. Nevertheless, she was able to go a long way to present herself on the world market with the help of high-quality and reliable goods.

For the first time, the company became known in 1989. Then Asus (Taiwan) was founded by four enthusiasts who fled with another famous company Aser. Naturally, they already had experience with electronics, and therefore it was decided to organize their own mini-concern in a small apartment.

Name

"Asus", the country of origin of which is Taiwan, got its name from the animal. It turned out that it was based on "Pegasus", which symbolized not only success and rebirth, but also translated from Greek as "stormy current."

As you know: "As you name the boat, so it will float." The same thing happened with pegASUS. If for the first few months they only advised other companies on the development of motherboards. Then after a while they realized that they could create a "mother" on their own. And the most surprising thing was that they successfully released it in the very first year of its foundation. This allowed them to open the door to the global market and officially become a company in 1990.

Leader

Four years later, Johnny Shea, who is currently the president of the company, took over as CEO. It was he who pushed the company towards the world leadership in the manufacture of motherboards. Over time, Johnny Shea managed not only to keep the company afloat, but also to help it capture other segments of the global electronics market.

Development

In 1997, the Asus models appeared. A little later it was decided to release communicators under its own name. That was also a significant step in the development of the company. Although it is worth noting that the ASUS mobile phone, although it was first released in 2003, has become known only in the last couple of years.

Then the company underwent a reorganization. As a result, the concern turned into three separate groups. First, ASUSTeK Computer worked on motherboards, laptops, smartphones, monitors and other components. But Pegatron Technology, under its own name, began to give the world ready-made computers, as well as cases for them and devices.

Unihan Technology is the third group that has worked on contract manufacturing of PC components. Has become a working platform for cooperation with distributors, resellers, integrators and OEMs.

motherboards

The Asus company, whose country of origin is Taiwan, initially specialized in the manufacture of motherboards. Now it is the largest manufacturer in this segment. Its share in the world market is over 40%. Statistics show that at the moment, almost every third PC is equipped with an Asus motherboard.

For four years now, the company has been the most expensive brand in Taiwan and the best motherboard manufacturer. For all the time, a huge number of innovations have been implemented in this segment, which have not been registered anywhere before.

This is how the revolutionary 16-phase power supply was born. Thanks to her, it was possible to significantly reduce energy consumption. The result is a "mother" that not only consumes less energy, but also gives off a little heat. Both the first and second metrics do not affect excellent performance in any way.

A special function EPU was created, which is a controller of the parameters of the main components of a PC: video card, RAM, chipset, HDD, cooler and processor. But Express Gate is working on the fact that literally 5 seconds after turning on the PC, the user already has access to the network.

Laptops

Also, the Asus company, whose country of origin is Taiwan, over time began to work on laptops. Moreover, many of them have become not just a quality product, some have become a leader in a certain segment. We are talking about which, even if they cost exorbitant money, are still the most powerful and reliable machines.

The company has released more than 20 series of these devices. Among them are the ZENBOOK UX, which are the thinnest and most attractive laptops. This series is quite expensive and perfect for business people. But ASUS X is responsible for multimedia, especially suitable for moviegoers and music lovers.

But it has become a very multifunctional series. There are also budget models with attractive design, there are also devices for businessmen, as well as quite powerful laptops. ASUS G is the line that ushered in the gaming boom. Thanks to the models of this series, every lover of computer games will be able to plunge into the virtual world with pleasure.

Gadgets

Well, among other things, over the past few years, the company has been able to present very powerful and high-quality smartphones. "Asus" (manufacturer - the country of Taiwan) has developed a whole series of very successful and good devices called ZenFone.

This line has several branches: here and camera phones, and large displays, powerful processors and simply beautiful models.

The ASUS phone is not just a great gadget, it, above all, continues the tradition of quality from the company. Each model is assembled from sturdy materials, there are more budget models, which, even though they were assembled from plastic, are still quite durable. There are also very cool metal cases, which, among other things, are real technical giants of the market.

The company also boasts that last summer it released the first smartphone based on the most powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor. This honor was awarded to the excellent modified ZenFone 3 Deluxe model. Apart from this, the gadget is practically on the world market. And all thanks to 6 GB of RAM and as much as 256 GB of internal memory.

Of course, ASUS cannot be called the undisputed leader in everything. It produces the best models of motherboards, but their smartphones are too expensive, so they are less popular than similar Chinese models. The company's laptops are also beyond praise, but there are companies that are specialized in the manufacture of these devices. Naturally "Asus" cannot "compete" with them. But it is worth remembering that many of the experienced concerns have been on the market for more than 40-50 years, but the Taiwanese company has been operating for almost 28 years and during this time has achieved very steep results.
